I’ve had the pleasure of talking with Andre and he is just as kind and friendly in person as he is in these videos. If you’re ever in NYC, I’d highly recommend the wine bar that he owns and operates in Brooklyn called & Sons. A very cute intimate and warm wine bar with a fantastic list that focuses on US wines. They also have a great menu of charcuteries which they hand slice with these cool vintage flywheel slicers. I’ve heard great things about his restaurant Kingfisher as well, but haven’t been yet.

@@stinkinmushroom Why is that? The US is capable of producing world class wines that can compete with and outperform grand cru burgundy and Bordeaux. Not every winery in the US makes mass-produced sugary fruit juice, there are plenty of serious winemakers making serious quality wines.

I read some comments below and it appears he owns a wine bar, so start there! Have some "real people" taste and comment about his suggestions! I used to watch a show in the UK when visiting my dad that had sommeliers compete and it was the greatest thing "this was crown in Chile, the southern coast, a west facing side, picked by Jose and his burrow Charlie, on a Wednesday when it was 72 degrees and it's X brand". Hi Andre, love your content. This time with the sparkling wines you've got it wrong (maybe trying to simplify). Co2 is not injected to Prosecco, it's produced thanks to secondary fermentation in a tank (vs. the bottle in Methode Classique).

Explanation of prosecco is wrong. Of course he knows what he's talking about, it's down to half arsed editing, as you can see through that segment. Prosecco is made with tank method. Plus the conclusion could make you think that only champagne is made with the second fermentation happening in the bottle, which isn't the case.

I also believe they swirl the wine to let the smells out, with is why you drink wine with your nose in the glass, because tasting is also done in the nose, you can taste it better

Isn't taste like 70-80% ol smell or something like that, which is why when you have a cold every taste so blah and bland? Other random fact- when up in a plane you don't taste salt like normal so they use more salt in airplane food.

A little while later, he gave me some wine and had me taste it. I thought it was one of the best Sauvignon Blanc's I had ever tasted. It was delicious. Turns out it was Chardonnay. He told me it wasn't that I didn't like Chardonnay, it was that I had never tasted a good one. 😉
