I appreciate your video! I bought a 550 unit for my three bay garage... liked the unit... then a year later bought two more 550s for the other two bays. Unbeknownst to me was Sommer had changed the frequencies on the transmitter/receiver from 315MHz to 310MHz. I wasted many hours trouble shooting, swapping new units and still trying (unsuccessfully) to program with the first (identical looking) transmitter. Your video showed the frequency on the transmitter and it was an "Aha!" moment for me. Maybe those ever too cleaver Germans changed the frequency and didn't let us know!!! Nothing like keeping the Yanks confused I say... Now I'll have to carry both transmitters in my early cars!

I can not get the two halves to pull apart. Pulling as hard as I can. There seems to be a notch at the end. Does that have anything to releasing the case?

That notch appears to be a locking mechanism , but the two half’s should pull apart without doing anything to that notch.

To RESET or CLEAR a Direct Drive remote control: 1. Press the learn button (1) on the control housing for at least five seconds until the LED (Radio) blinks slowly. 2. Press the desired transmitter button. The LED (Radio) lights up for one second. ⇒ When the LED (Radio) turns off, the radio code of this transmitter button is deleted. (NOTE: The directions are the same as programming a button on the remote, but you must hold the LEARN button for 5 seconds to make it the red light blink)

Hello Tani, I just purchased a universal remote (315 mhz) that did not work. I'm going to try purchasing a different universal remote to see if I'll have better luck. Could you please provide links to all the universal remotes that you purchased that did not work? This way I'll know which ones not to purchase to save me time and aggravation.

Hi there. How do I go about resetting a remote ? My first button opens both garages. Which is not what I want. I want 1 button for 1 garage each. However my second button only opens the 2nd garage which is perfect.

Much appreciated. One question about frequency : my present openers do not show the frequency ! At the place where you point at, I can only read : "TX03-B-4" or "TX03-8-4". There is also a year indicated : 2001 --> 310 Mhz ? Thanks for your reply

I have just replaced a remote with the same code as yours. You need the 868 MHz version. I presume the '8' in the middle of the code denotes this and has just been shortened to a single digit.

I’ll be replacing a broken opener. The original opened a community gate, a shared garage door to our complex, and then my private garage unit. When I program my replacement remote for this three doors/gates will it affect everyone else’s remote?

Hi Michael, It shouldn’t affect anyone else’s remotes. I have multiple remotes for my one garage door opener and when I replace one, the other remotes continue to work without having to be reprogrammed.

Hi jarrid, here’s the link to the 315mhz remote on Amazon. The last digit “4” refers to the number of button on the remote. Most openers need only two. One to open and close the door. Hello, My Sommer Synoris Opener stopped working today. When I press on controller (wall mount) to open door, only lights turn on and door won’t open. My sensors on either side working (red and green). Anybody had this issue?
