Lewis may have deserved the race, but looking at the entire season and the way Max was forced into a dnf by a Mercedes 2 races in a row, I'd say Max definitely deserved the championship. Weird calls from FIA again. There would have been hell to pay if they finished that race under safety car as well, but the absurd call of first not letting cars unlap themselves and later on retracting that made this seem way fishier than needed. Glad Hamilton's dad talked to him and prevented him from acting like Toto who sounded like a little brat who's had his favourite toy taken away.

i think what makes this season so special for me is how hard max fought for this. ive never seen a more consistent driver under the given circumstances. mercedes has been dominant for over a decade, but nobody expected this max verstappen. this guy is just a fucking legend, a schumacher/senna of the modern era. i hope we will have more exciting fights between him and hamilton and possibly even other teams in the future! loved the season

How does Perez's response only come at 5:40?! He was instrumental in this victory and securing the championship with a masterclass of defensive driving. 2021 is the season that brought back F1 to everybody , this was what the sport needed,a battle until the last lap. Hamilton and Verstappen both where astonishingly good all season. Adrenaline from start to finish I lost interest when Mercedes’ was untouchable. Looking who would become 2 or 3 was not interesting .

Red Bull decided to pit twice, Mercedes didn't. Perez did a fucking amazing job defending for Max, Bottas was nowhere in sight. Max didn't make Latifi crash, he didn't decide to let the cars in front of him unlap themselves. This last lap shows what Red Bull and Max have shown for most of the season, that they were just that little bit better and that they deserve to be this close to Mercedes until the end. Both Lewis and Max were incredible and gave us the best season in a long long long time!! Stop hating.

You can't just change the rules in the end of the race. If you were trying to have a 1 lap 'shoot-out' you'd have kept all the cars in position so Lewis at least had a chance to defend his position. They kept saying 'fresher' tyres, um, no, new tyres against 40 plus used is hardly a fair battle. Complete fiasco.

10 wins, 10 poles, 18 podiums, 652 laps led, 3 races ruined through no fault of his own, 2nd best car. Mercedes had 3 chances to pit, yet they very consciously chose track position over fresh tires. Ironically Mercedes has been given (way) more handouts by the FiA than RB this season, even earlier in the race Lewis was gifted a free advantage, and look who is crying. Max is the worthy champion, if it wasn’t for his bad luck he would have won 2-3 races ago.

Really, its pretty simple to understand. Mercedes didnt need to pit as they would have lost track position to Max, so they would have lost the race. If they stayed out and the rules of the sport were followed then they would have won the race. If they stayed out and the rules of the sport were not followed by the safety car pitting early and only 5 cars let through instead of all of them like the rules state then mercedes lose. It has nothing to do with strategy. The race should have finished under the safety car. Im not even a Lewis fan i dont support anyone i just watch it but the sport stinks today its not right

If Hamilton had pitted max would've stayed out. The issue with being first is you can't do the opposite of your opponent behind you . Mercedes took the gamble of not pitting . And were on last 10 laps of winning race . But then Latifi gave redbull the miracle they needed

@@jamesheads5789 what you don't understand is that not only the stewards were sh1t, Masi openly wasn't playing by the rulebook since Brazil. Max got favoured in Brazil and Lewis in Jeddah. At least they fixed the mistake of lap 1, when Lewis should have given the position back like Max in Jeddah (I'm not saying it's in the rulebook that you should give back the position even tho you were cleared shoved off track, I'm saying that to keep it as fair as possible, there has to be a standard which all drivers are held to. If it's not the rulebook, then let it be Masi's weird decisions. So in the very least, if Masi is gonna go crazy, he can affect everybody equally)

People forget the other side of Lewis. He is the same person who complains on radio to the team to talk to FIA always during race and act cool afterwards. This happen with Vettel and now with MAX. Lewis brake tested Vettel and now if you believe his words got brake tested himself. Lewis always relied on a faster car advantage to beat max but MAX at the end prevailed and won the championship. There is nothing hamilton will do in public and i am sure he will complain to the team which resulted in protests.

I'm not sure what the huge fuss is about. A safety car came out, the race director told the lapped cars between the two drivers that were fighting it out to go ahead and pass the safety car (not unheard of and only those 4 cars to save time for just one more lap to race), and then they raced to the end. Sometimes the cards fall slightly better to one side. Who wants to see a championship end in a safety car??!? Get the hell outta here.

Lots of respect towards Masi for making that decision while he might have known what he would get over him afterwards. I had loads of respect for Hamilton and Mercedes. But the way Wolff handles this during and after and still going makes me SO MUCH more happy that he lost. I really hope the FIA puts there focus on HIS behavior instead of Masi. @@Theactualgamer1 there’s a difference between luck and the FIA completely changing the rules when u have the championship won on the last lap of the season to give Max the best chance and fuck everyone else, Lewis, Saint and the rest of the grid. And max had a race where he legit went out for 1 lap under a safety car in the wet and got full points for that race which was also luck, then Max had Brazil where he didn’t get a penalty or anything for a clear penalty, and then he had today, Perez letting Max catch up 8 seconds, then VSC letting max gain 6 seconds from his pit stop, and then agains a Safety car at the end of the race. But all of those stokes of luck are not why he won. He won because with 2 laps to go the FIA broke the rule book to favour max and fuck everyone else on the track, most likely because Horner was shouting in Masai ear like he said, ‘why are the back markers not unlapping themselves this isn’t fair’ and the nail in the coffin ‘all we need is one lap. Well they broke 2 or 3 safety car rules that Merc and Lewis were driving by which meant Max had a lap and he was right behind him. It will never be a respected championship but it will be a respected season from 2 guys who pushed each other to the limit
