SONA: Panayam kay Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte

Galing po ako ng Davao last year sumakay ako ng taxi. Siyempre pag taga-Manila ka instinct na sa atin na magpa-sobra ng bayad. Nagulat ako kasi sinuklian ako ng taxi driver eksakto kung magkano yung nakalagay sa metro nya. Sabi nya hindi sila naniningil ng sobra bawal daw sa kanila yun kasi sabi ni Mayor Duterte. The next day naglakad ako ng madaling araw, mga 3AM yata yun, may mga nadatnan ako na mga dalaga naglalakad din, hindi sila natatakot sa daan. Ito ang patunay ng kagandahan sa Davao City base sa karanasan ko.

I have to say that I go back to my boarding house at 2am mostly after hanging out with my friends and I could say that Davao City is the safest place I have ever been. At 2am I walk alone for about 2Km, holding my smartphone in my hand, with a very big bag at my back, not looking at the people in front of me, and I came home safely. I go to malls, parks, or any crowded areas holding my smartphone and no one seems to bother stealing it. DAVAO CITY IS THE SAFEST CITY O HAVE EVER BEEN TO. And where safety and discipline is at work, you can say that LIFE IS TRULY HERE!

I can guarantee this as well. I studied college in davao and I walked the city streets in the wee hours of morning and I always feel safe. Duterte doesnt mind the youth partying as long as its peaceful and no illegal activities involved.

I lived in Davao City for more than 1 yr. at iba talaga ang pamamalakad doun disiplinado mga tao at you feel safe kasi maraming pulis sa kada kalsada kahit 9pm to 10pm na kami nakakauwi at kahit 3am lumalabas pako para kumain.

I can attest that davao is a safe place to visit. when my hubby and I visited Manila, we were followed by a group of bystanders (maybe 4-5 men) on our way to the hotel we stayed at. I told my husband not to panic because we were just a few steps away from the hotel's main door. Then one of the guards saw us and noticed the unusual, shouted at them by saying 'stay away or face the consequence' (he was carrying an automatic rifle during that time). We didnt go back to that place again (Malate). We stayed in Makati the next time we visited. In davao, we walked 3 blocks from the hotel to the restaurant at 1AM but no one followed us. my hubby is convinced that davao is indeed, a very safe place to visit for tourists like him.

Repost*** FYI lang about Duterte and Davao before you make any judgement about our Mayor and our Davaowenyo laws and culture. 1. Speed limits in Davao city are 30kph on downtown area, 40kph on major roads, then 60kph on the highways. The purpose of this law was not to control people but to make them safe while on the road. 30kph has the higher probability rate of surviving a vehicular collision compare to 60-80kph, and also you can avoid your vehicle against road surprises such as children or animal crossing a road or a swerving vehicle, I hope people will take note on that. 2. People respect the strict implementation of the Davao Laws which is strongly enforce by Mayor Duterte. If you are not a criminal, then you have no reason to fear him. We fear the penalties but not the judge. 3. Violation of the laws like jaywalking, overspeeding, smoking or buying liquors beyond 12:00 midnight will only end up in prison not by extrajudicial killing of DDS. (Oh my God!! Where did you get this idea!?!) 3. Criminals such as druglords were not killed right away, they were given 3 warnings to stop their criminal activities or they will exit from Davao City or submit themselves in rehabilitation centers.Other criminals were killed by the policemen who caught them on act of doing a crime. Come on! The job of the police is to protect us and killing them is what they are paid for?! 4. Davao City is the largest city in the earth in terms of land area but not the biggest population in the Philippines. 90% of that area are still forested and farmland areas so you can see it from the airplane that the whole Davao City are still covered in green, even in downtown areas you can still see trees and plants as you watch it from above. 5. Progress VS Environment - People of Davao City respect nature and hate people who destroys them. If you ask the local people they will usually say this "Aanhin namin yung malalaking building at pabrika kung marurumihan yung kapaligiran at tubig namin gaya ng Maynila." that is why the building of bridge from Davao to Samal were canceled because of the harmful effects on our marine life resources in Samal islands as building the bridge will destroy the corals that took million of years of engineering by the nature and the vibration from the vehicles will cause disturbance on the breeding behavior of the fishes. 6. Davaoenyos are taught that government projects are owned by the people not by politicians, so no politicians should post their faces on tarp in every road, bridge or school projects that are built. If any politicians will do that on Davao City, people will think you as bullshit and a TRAPO that why we hate NOGRALES because he loves doing that. As you noticed there were no faces of Mayor Duterte seen on every 911 vehicles in Davao unlike the Red Cross Ambulance of Dick Gordon which is also a violation of Red Cross Principles (Indepent and Neutrality) and by the way Davao City Red Cross Ambulance has no Dick Gordon face in it, I think the only Red Cross Ambulance in the Philippines that has no Dick posted on it. It is because Red Cross Davao are really adhering to their Red Cross Principles, which is Independent and Neutrality. I do not know why Dick Gordon did not understand this? 7. POLITICS (DUTERTE VS NOGRALES) - well if you ask our opinion we will vote someone who is fearless, who will enforce the law and who is not afraid to kill criminals. Well not all Dutertes are good in politics and people will not vote you just because you are Duterte or Nograles but we want to see that you are a strong leader in terms of keeping Davao City clean and safe. Inday Sarah Duterte was a good puncher so I might consider her...lols! 8. Davao Death Squad - they are vigillantes not hired killers!!! That is far different from what happened in (Tagum City Davao Del Norte) where the mayor there imitated our Mayor Duterte and he hired killers to deal with criminals but the drawbacks is that those killers were also paid to assassinate businessmen in that area. Davao Death Squad are different they know their targets, they warn them (by note or by verbal warning), then they will kill them if the warning fails. They are very elusive creatures and very good sharpshooters, 1 bullet is good enough to kill a bad guy. 9. Davaowenos reaction to DDS or people being killed by DDS - I have witnessed a DDS killing in the St. of Roxas Avenue near Ateneo de Davao University. It was exactly 12:00noon, the streets were busy with jeepneys and people and students crossing the streets then I noticed 1 motorcycle just stopped infront of us, the driver aim the gun at his target killing the man on his head then the gunner fled the scene. I was shocked seeing the scene and also was amazed because that man was with the crowd of people but nobody got hurt except him. Then our jeepney driver stopped near the dead man as the crowd of people gathered around to see the man lying on the road. Then the driver knew the man and told me he was killed because he is a notorious holdapper and a pusher in Boulevard area,then the driver was talking with the bystanders apparently that guy was also a friend of that dead man, and the driver told him "inabutan talaga ng malas yang demonyo na yan" and to my surprise the friend just tell the driver "sinabihan na namin siya na umalis nalang sa Davao at doon nalang siya sa Cebu kasi malakas bentahan doon ng drugs magpadala nalang siya sa family niya, pero nagmamayabang eh may 45 daw siya bakit daw siya matatakot sa DDS....ayan tuloy tigok! then police came and they have searched the body and they saw the 45 caliber pistol was hidden on the waist of the victim. Then I saw students taking photos of the victim as the DDS encounter were somewhat entertaining to them (selfies were not that trending at that time). The mindset of the Davaowenyos are simple as black, grey and white. BLACK = YOU MUST DIE Rapist Kidnapper Holdapper Corrupt Officials Druglords Smugglers Murderers GREY= You should get punish or get penalties or go to prison Smoking in public Firecrackers Overspeeding No helmets on motorcycle Etc. WHITE = You live a peaceful Davaowenyo life Just obey the law and respect the people and the nature. Simple as that. 10. Davaowenyos reaction on DUTERTE Running for President - NO I DONT WANT HIM TO RUN BECAUSE.... Duterte is for Davao City only Corrupt Officials will destroy his character He has done too much for the good of Davao City, He don't need to prove anything just to save Philippines. -YES HE CAN RUN AND WIN THE 2016 ELECTION... If the Filipino people wanted change If the Filipino people are sick and tired of old TRAPO system If the Filipino people wanted a Federal State Government -IF YOU WILL VOTE MAYOR DUTERTE BE SURE... that you have discipline you are not doing anything bad you are not a criminal or your relatives are not criminal YOU WILL BE THE FIRST ONE TO CRY.... 11. Is Davao city in the age of Martial Law? NO!!! We really enjoy our freedom of expression, we can also do rallies and demonstrations on the streets against government and stuffs, we have freedom but we also know that freedom comes with responsibilities and limitations. That's it!!! I think I have said many things about Davao City and Mayor Duterte para malinawan ang mga tao about Duterte and Davao. The airport- our mayor was truthful when he said that he drove his motor cycle to inspect he conducted also an inspection to traffic officers. And before he fired the abused police officers, he increased their salaries. He constructed their new building, he implemented reforms all over, slowly but surely. That's why the "Buayas" in davao existed ko longer, they're already history. The taxis, b4 we have had PU(public utility)minicas as taxis, he wanted to demolish them bec they were old and not pretty good, the drivers complained"" what will happen to us??? Where can we get our source of living???" The Mayor talked to bangayan, and bangayan bought hundreds of new taxis and the city granted a rent- to- own taxi to all drivers, they paid bangayan . So now we have new And unified taxis in davao, these taxi drivers were all registered , and if you're from other part of this world and landed at the davao airport, and happened to ride a taxi and left ur belongings , you can be sure to get back those belongings bec our Mayor and the police were cooperating for the security in this place.the drivers are so afraid to loose his job !!'! Yes our mayor had done so many developments in our place, that's why whoever his running mate for mayor won't won, He doesn't need to bribe, to betrayed in order to win, we davaenos have seen with our own very Eyes , the development, the growth and peace of our city!!! There might be some crimes bec we cant avoid that, we're living in this world where the spiritual realms are also existing, but where there's a Righteous Leader who loves Justice and not corruption, that Land enjoys God's blessings
