We need to resist the urge to analyse the DA through the lense of ANC politics. John being friendly to the ANC and Helen being critical is a good cop bad cop strategy, which is obvious to anyone who thinks outside ANC politics. In the case of KZN , IFP can never win back the Zulu people outside uLundi which leaves MK and ANC as the main options unless some miracle party forms there. MK hasn't featured very well in municipal by-elections held after our National elections. I think they're more of a 7 day wonder than a solid party although it's still early days for me to say that with 100% conviction. Our next municipal elections will give us a much better indication of how the party will fare in the future.

To me and what iv seen there is lethargy and lack of enthusiasm for IFP without Buthelezi and there are no popular players from KZN in the top brass of the ANC and so without that there is a high likelihood of the KZN majority going MK especially when you factor in the fact that they essentially locked MK out of a province it won.... so factoring the lack of an alternative and Zulu nationalism ...there is a high probability MK becomes the premier KZN party.

The white population is NOT decreasing. The percent is decreasing. The census put it down by ~ 70000 people in 10 years but even stats SA admitted they undercounted the whites, coloureds and indians. Additionally, the coloured population is increasing both in numbers and percentages. If the DA keep the coloured vote they'll stay where they are. Essentially its remained stable at ~ 4.7 million people and i believe its actually higher at around 5 million. The elections says 2.5 million whites voted. If that's true then only 2 million didn't vote INCLUDING people under 18!!!! Something is amiss there. It's becoming a narrative the white population is decreasing when I don't believe it to be the case (emigration figures are showing black and coloured middle class are now forming the majority of "leavers" of the country) (additionally within the white population English speakers are the main culprit for the lack of growth. The Afrikaner growth rate is healthy) But that's not the reason why I believe the DA will go down to 10%. They'll go down because people of all races are getting pissed off with them (including myself but I never and never will vote for them) VF+ for me thanks. I trust NO other party except for the IFP and UIM. Also IFP - Mike - they got 600000 more votes than in 2019!!!!! They literally the only party that existed pre these elections that grew! There's a certain future for them - especially when I see MK not going to last (with their Zulu vote - Zuma isn't immortal - he's going to go soon) I disagree with the Prince in that regard......

The DA are generally doing a good job. Yes, people get pissed off with them for some petty reasons but there aren't any other parties with their track record of good governance , competency and lack of corruption. They're not going to lose half of their support in the near term and they'll most likely grow in the next municipal elections , particularly in Gauteng where they're facing an ANC made water crisis.

Senior positions are elected by about 400 DA members , most of them are not white. They vote on merit , not on skin colour. Unfortunately their detractors will continue to point fingers at every little racial discrepancy in the DA , instead of listening to the message that they deliver.

And I think we got a clear understanding why MKP will not go to an elective conference soon but rather a consultative conference. The difference this makes is we now seeing MKP taking themselves seriously and taking some form of structure which helps them raise as a formidable party.
