Lennart Westerlund: Swing dancing can continue to be the common ground that unites people from all over the world. Tanya and Sondre managed to unite many people from all over the world with their dances, blogs, participation in competitions and festivals. Passing on the love of dance to their students, they, in the figurative expression of Tanya, became their dance parents.

Yes, I like the idea of a dance parent. Mine were wonderful and brought me to a very rewarding part of life, a creative activity that is social, physical, improvised, musical. I thank Richard, my dance father, for that very much.

@@davidziff2591 Last year, shortly before the World Championship in Kharkiv, Tanya gave an interview - Tanya Georgiievska: The main function of dance parents is to pass on to their students the love of dance (Таня Георгиевская: Главная функция танцевальных родителей - передать ученикам любовь к танцу). In it, she revealed many interesting facts from her life. I think that this interview would be good to be translated into English so that the English-speaking public could get reliable information from Tanya about the development of swing dancing in Ukraine.

Wow, this fun & interesting vlog covered everything...beer, birdies, bugs, frogs, dancing, fork theft, Herrang history, junk food, lost luggage, angry Sondre, happy Sondre, reflective Sondre, etc. Sondre & Tanya sure get around & have had some remarkable adventures together. Btw Sondre, weren't you a little warm wearing that scarf? Asking for a friend.

Sondre's face, yeah! Never a dull moment...I laughed because in the Rockin' Summer Fest vlog, at one point he gave the hand sign for "love" and 3 seconds later hissed at us like a mad cat! Which is it, dude?😅 And then that microsecond glare he gave Tanya when she smacked the fly on his face...👺 I never get tired of watching what that face is going to do next, on stage or off. Tanya makes great faces too, a lot of times her expressions make me think of cartoons, which I know she loves, thinking of 'Clock Vlog' there. Easy to love, those two, yes?

@@bethflokstra1028 Yes, one minute Sondre can be a 'Laugh It Up Funny Boy', then the next minute be a teensy weensy bit perturbed. Tanya on the other hand, always seems cool, calm & collected. Totally kidding of course. Both are lovely, lovable people. Attention Sondre: please don't fly off the handle & banish me from the S&T channel.

How interesting that you got to stay where Frankie Manning stayed. Thinking maybe that was done to honor you as mega-teachers now? I think that would only be proper, but as you know I'm a 😁little😁biased in your favor, just a tid bit.
@davidziff25912 жыл бұрын
Not that it's really relevant to anything but my wife was one of the 80 women who danced with Frankie at his 80th birthday party. He taught at a number of weekends and camps we attended. A fine man with a beautiful smile. But, sadly, he was also an old man. He was able to cover the pain as he taught but could be seen in the break room in obvious distress. I once asked him during a workshop if I could ask him a question. He replied with a wry smile: "You already did." Years later I still cherish that and the few times he used me as a partner to demonstrate the follower's footwork." He was working for the postal service when he was rediscovered (probably in the late '80s).
