I feel that you could use the cinema 4D render in AE and use simple shapes with a extruded depth

I tried that. Unfortunately, when you use any 3D renderer in AE, it does not continue your image along the sides.

Or even twinmotion... too many step for a simple extrude... @sounduckfilm the new version of ae accept GLB 3D files... maybe helps to speed the process?
