Absolutely bloody brilliant. As a 67 year old codger, thank you very much, beautifully expressed. Reminiscent of Lehrer in scathing mode
@lonelylantern91354 жыл бұрын
I've watched this about ten times since I first saw it last night. Incredible how you manage to incorporate so much in one song. The wit, musical talent and performance of course all excellent, but to convey the absurdity, the fear and anxiety, the cruelty, the loss, this really is a masterpiece. I can't praise it enough.

Thank-you, thank-you so much. I love your song. I'm a 62 year old nurse working on a SCovid ward (suspected Covid ) in Melbourne, Australia and yes, we've heard about Dominic Cummins here - why do the idiots always get the attention? Now I understand why the authorities here and across the pond in your lovely land asked for retired nurses and doctors to sign back on ....... so they can bump us off with Covid and keep the public coffers full for politicians to enjoy long overpaid pensions 😀 Thank-you also for your blog which I've just discovered. Keep up the great work. Happy Birthday and I hope you stay safe and well. Yvette xxx

Amusing but speaking a lot of truth. Wonderful pianist! I began this lockdown full of trust and enthusiasm that the government was acting in the best interests of everyone. Am now tired and disillusioned, l was even inspired to write optimistic poetry about it, now l like millions of others feel cynical and confused and cheated. But l will be 75 tomorrow, so maybe l should oblige the powers that be and depart to pastures new,then l can see my family from a heavenly perspective.

Jean - don't you dare give up. I have been trying to fight for a vaccine against Covid-19 since we went into lockdown. It forms a very important part of a triumvirate approach of comprehensiveness that could relieve you and us of this horrendous little vandal called Covid-19. The vaccine is a good part of that! I don't give up easily on that! And certainly not! The song is morbid but hope is not yet dead. Only if you let it be so!

Clickety-click here. Dillie, this is a brilliant run-down of the thinking of Mr Short-Cummings. Loved rhyming bonhomie with draining the economy and many others. And it has emerged on the very day that Mr Short-Cummings’ shortcomings in the form of long goings and comings became evident. Enjoying your brilliant strummings , And now it has entered my hummings , Such appropriate rhyming, Released with due timing In view of long goings, Short-Cummings.
