Gibson's have such a balanced tone. One time when I was acoustic shopping a salesman told me, "Martin's are known for their bottom end. Taylor's are very bright. A Gibson is what you get if a Martin and Taylor had a baby."

Older Gibsons get a bit woofy for me. Taylors with mahogany tops sound more balanced. Collings and Santa Cruz acoustics are without a doubt the pinnacle of acoustical projection.

@@SOBRANTE409 That's what you think but we all hear differently and what sounds good to your ear isn't the same for all of us. My Gibson Songwriter has a beautiful tone and a lot of sustain for me!but what do you mean by "woofy"?

Really nice playing here. You get a slightly warmer tone than I've heard on most versions of Song for George, which I like very much. The Gibson seems to really suit your fingerstyle playing - I'd love to hear some more like this!

It's anyone as impressed as I by Gretchen's right hand technique? I discovered you as a huge fan of Zepparella. When I do Zeppelin, I watch your take on how to do it live, first and Jimmy second. For a cheaply made Gibson, it sounds very nice. best part about it, is the ebony fret board and the electronics. sounds like it has an awesome pickup in it.

Hi Gretchen, Thanks for the demonstration. The first thing I noticed was how comfortable your fretting hand was. Then you did mention it at the end. Also did your husband enjoy the guitar also?
