Beautiful Song. So refreshing to see that most of the posts are not about religious hatred and more about the fact that this is one of the best celtic singers ever. His ability to paint beautiful landscapes with his words and fantastic guitar playing knows no ends.

I feel privileged to watch and listen to this again, this time after paying close attention to your: "Father Daughter Mother Son". A close friend recently passed. He was a giant of my times, I told his partner recently: The past is what we made it. The future is what we make it." It is a rare treat to share the blue where falcons fly with you and Dick.

Love this! Written by the English, sung by a Scot, and dedicated to Ireland. That's the way it should be. Love and respect among the isles The first mountainous picture is definitely Glencoe in the central Scottish Highlands.
@bardofmoate23029 жыл бұрын
Chris Wardlaw, the Hill at the start of the video is Buachaille Etive Mor, but forget what you read in photographers books about it being in the central highlands, a load of shite from a photographers vocabulary, go up the Glen and into the village, and ask the locals if they are from the central highlands ha ha Sure, if you know the area, you will know it sits on the West coast of Scotland.
@chriswardlaw57339 жыл бұрын
Climbed it tons of times. Am fae Partick. Never owned a photographer's book in ma puff. ;)

+chris wardlaw Yes, it's Buachaille Etive Mòr I had originally wanted to include photographs from all of the British Isles & Ireland but I thought it would be confusing. I left that one in as a nod to Dick.
@bardofmoate23029 жыл бұрын
+chris wardlaw Yes, i hope you appreciated that lovely view of the etive and bideam na bein and that glorious mountain to the far eastern view fron the summit "Shiehallion" over in the central highlands ;) Enjoyed manys a pint in the Thornwood when i lived in Partick myself ;)

This brilliant song written by Phil Coulter. Lyn and I sang this at Sidmouth in 1989 to a packed house and you could have heard a pin drop! Fantastic event and fantastic memory...we used to run The Willow Tree on to it as sort of double song set. I was part of Chequered Roots in those days....

charliedehaven / I hope you didn't embarrass yourselves when performing this by introducing it as a "Cool Philter" sorry "Phil Coulter" song. Tho no doubt the "Philter" phellow would love your mistake & not say a word to correct it. Phil Coulter is from Derry, N.Ire... "Song For Ireland" was actually written by Phil & June Colclough from Staffordshire. England.
