Thats partly because this is on jtbc while the kdramas on the major 3 broadcasting stations (sbs, kbs, mbc) are much more conservative , you'll see more intimate romance scenes as well as more violent scenes on jtbc and sometimes tvn dramas because of less age and graphic restrictions. i was really surprised that for some reason, the scenes weren't as sexual ( and heavy compared to what i usually feel with such scenes) as the extent of the acts they're actually doing, i felt this sort of love and sweetness, plus the cinematography is GREAT, then came to the comments only to find out, that the director is female, yup, now i understand, it's all the magic of female gaze.

See the difference when the director is female. The gaze from which such shots are taken is so essential. Yes this is from Nabis perspective. But even the other scenes that have palpable tension are shot with a taste that feel non predatory. Especially episode 2. The discomfort and resigned face of the women at the bar. The I want to stop you but I can’t because I’ll be branded sensitive. Female gaze is superior. That’s on proof.

I can’t lay a finger on it. Also this show is very realistic when it comes to the college experience. The clothing is realistic and the commitment issues are showcased as is. I’m just biased to women don’t mind me 😂

In Vincenzo it's also a woman director, and even though they only have the two kissing scenes they're more real rather than the closed lip contact for 5 seconds 🤣 Although Park Shin-woo directed the love scene in "It's ok not to be ok" which was also nice, and he's a man.
