This feels like the definitive version of the song. The original feels like summoning rain on a pirate ship on a listless overcast kinda day. "Hey, let's get some rain in here. Ah that's nice. What a beautiful day! Man I love rain!" This version feels like I'm summoning a storm. A Proper Storm. There's a handful of trees somewhere that aren't gonna make it thru this one. The drums in this version feels like thunder, like the initial crack followed by the sub-heavy lingering rumble. Contrasted with the melody being played on a chiptune saw wave, it feels so personal. Iunno if it's the fact that the soundfont is familiar, evocative of childhood wonder, or some trickery with how the reverb on it is mixed, but this feels like the melody's home turf. Bonus points for how the rave lead surges to full power when it's first introduced, just for a lil bit, feels so badass. "The weather bows before me today. I am limitless."
