the communities of the dene, cree and métis people who live downstream of the alberta tar sands mining activity are suffering elevated rates of cancer because of polluted air and toxic contamination of the athabasca river. toxins include mercury, lead, arsenic, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, cadmium... we are all in this fight together to protect clean air, fresh water and soil not just for ourselves but for everyone, including our non-human animal kin we share this earth with. your music is inspiring and empowering...thank you!

KLEE BENALLY - "Song of the Sun" (traduction maison pour ceux qui ne font pas confiance [avec raison] aux traductions automatiques) _____________________________ Our Mother aches / Notre Mère souffre Iron claws dig until she breaks / Des griffes de fer creusent jusqu'à ce qu'elle se brise And we bleed for this / Et nous saignons pour ça How much is enough? / Combien sera assez? I remember listening to songs of the Sun / Je me rappelle écouter les chansons du Soleil For all those whose breath was stolen / Pour tous ceux dont le souffle a été volé Whose lives were taken away / Dont les vies ont été emportées Who learned too late / Qui ont appris trop tard And now we sing again / Et maintenant nous chantons encore To the House of the Dawn / À la Maison de l'Aube There are no words that can right these wrongs. / Il n'y a pas de mots qui peuvent redresser ces torts And now this land breathes pain / Et maintenant ce pays respire la douleur Now, nothing grows / Maintenant, rien ne pousse That doesn’t carry the trauma / Qui ne porte le traumatisme That we weep, that you sow… / Que nous pleurons, que vous semez... And now we sing again / Et maintenant nous chantons encore To the House of the Dawn / À la Maison de l'Aube Now there are no words that can right these wrongs / Maintenant il n'y a pas de mots qui peuvent redresser ces torts This empire of blood and bones / Cet empire de sang et d'ossements Of poisoned, stolen homes… / De maisons volées, empoisonnées... Genocide… mutilated ghosts… / Génocide... fantômes mutilés... Fierce hearts lay buried, their struggle speaks… Fierce hearts lay buried, saying… / Les cœurs féroces gisent enterrés, disant... “Leave it in the ground…” (X4) / "Laissez ça dans le sol..." [l'uranium et le charbon, entre autres] Now the mines lay abandoned - Tell me, what has been done? And now the wells lay poisoned -Tell me, what has been done? And now the cancers spread - Tell me, what has been done? To right these wrongs! / Pour redresser ces torts! Now we sing again / Maintenant nous chantons encore To the House of the Dawn / À la Maison de l'Aube Now there are no words that can right these wrongs.

Very nice! I always knew your voice would shine solo and acoustically. You have a great voice and timber. Nice to see you out there again. :) Something I've always wanted to say to you is... Don't be afraid to let your voice be beautiful. Get what I mean by that? Meaning It has a depth and beauty that could enrapture even if being soft and soulful. Your intense growl is powerful, but your low almost ballad like resonance would be a gripping force too. Perfect example :23 to :35 here. You rock :)

Completely agree , alcohol, drugs and debts are the three pillars of alienation awareness of enriched populations theft and murder (EEUU and EU...and other countries friends), war, poor, hungry and indiference (and sometimes also alcohol and drugs) are the best weapon against poor countries and communities . A sleeping population, emptied of any critical judgment, is absolutely malleable by means of manipulation. Rich people are more worrried by high-heeled shoes that they will put in the next drunkenness that by shot in the head of their neighbor. People eat quietly, indifferent seeing a dead refugee child on the sand of the beach. But nothing happens, while some die due to injustice, others only thing they do well is mass suicide, mass suicide in indifference to mass murder, indifference to pain, to love ... unhappy people walking towards their own extermination,
