Beautiful! When I was young I would watch Song thrushes in numbers out of my primary school window in London. Then they disappeared for decades. Up until about 4 years ago you almost never saw them any more. Now, they seem to be on the up- I am pleased to say.

I have a few thrushes in my yard and one of them gives me much joy. It seems their song has 3 distinct sounds and this one bird often replaces the 3rd sound with the sound of a ringing cellphone and I once counted up to 5 ringings.

I don't know that hunters go after song thrushes in North Wales, any more than they hunt hermit thrushes or horned larks in the US. In the US, it's cat predation that's one of the the biggest issue for song bird survival, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case in Wales.

Only the unbeatable stupidity of all hunters allows those beautiful birds to be killed. The Thrush singing is wonderful.

Here in the U.S. songbirds are protected. A song thrush is much like a robin or wood thrush (which it closely resembles). Hopefully, there are similar laws safeguarding wildlife in Great Britain and other parts of the world.

Unfortunately, the ruling classes of Britain are the most likely to hunt wildlife, so the law enforcers tend to turn a blind eye. If a group of people without social influence ever had the gall to trap, shoot or otherwise terrorise a poor animal to death, they would probably find themselves being dealt with suitably harshly. Unlike fox hunters (despite this being illegal) / badger baiters / pheasant shooters...
