Always loved The Momma's & Pappas version of this but got chills hearing this in Once upon a time in hollywood. Epic song Epic Movie. Tarrantino always knocks it out the park with his soundtracks. Also great lesson.

You prolly dont give a shit but if you're stoned like me during the covid times you can stream pretty much all the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. Have been streaming with my brother for the last couple of days xD

You did well here. There's no shame for anyone not to play it as "eloquently" as Jose Feliciano because no one can play like Jose. Jose, he's one of one, just ask the great Steve Cropper.

Amazing how you descried to simplify the chords. I think the key to being a performer is to making songs to your liking. It will bring the comfort we all search for!

Jose Feliciano was a fantastic professional soccer player who had a horrible injury and could no longer play. He bought a guitar while recovering and the rest is history.

I need to learn this for a play I am doing in film school and I was like yeah I can learn it. It's a lot harder than I thought but thank you so much for this in depth simplified version.

Great, great lesson. As a follower of yours, this is a great progression in complexity but with your spin to keep it playable for the “living room musician.” Another Feliciano song down the road would be great! Hey, for all of you that like David Potts’ KZbin videos, consider sponsoring his Patreon page so he can keep the content coming. I’m no affiliated, just a fan that wants to see him succeed. Thanks.

The A flat add 6 can also be thought of as an inverted F minor 7th. I find that fingering also difficult, sometimes I just play the lowest 3 notes making it just an inverted F minor, or sometimes I just play a more usual F minor 7th.

Wow at first I thought this vid was no good. But after trying it on guitar I love what you did and how you showed both ways. Great video and a new sub after this!

Is the original in C# minor? I see it being played with a capo on the 4th fret, then using the a minor shape?

Correct. Capo 4th - Am 1st Pos. .

It's a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL version and perhaps my favorite scence out of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (other than the ones Margot Robbie is smiling in XD XD XD). Great lesson!

Sure thing! Thanks very much. Still haven't seen it for a 2nd time, but can't wait to do so, to enjoy all the music again! The soundtrack alone (without the visuals/scenes etc) doesn't do it justice, for me at least.

A very nice lesson indeed but I would like to ask you if you could try and play the acoustic version of Diamond and Rust by Judas Priest that would be a wonderful song to learn. Please consider at least listening to the song. Thank you.

Wouldn't it be easier to do the Momma's & Pappas version if it's any easier than Jose's.?
@songnotes5 жыл бұрын
Yeah I bet it would be - I actually am curious to properly learn that one (the original), after starting with this one. I'd agree this one is trickier in a few ways, which may or not be ideal a lot of the time (unless you can play like Jose).
@royston64515 жыл бұрын
@@songnotes I doubt if there are many Musicians with the ability to play Guitar like Jose did around today.! He was and still is one of the Great Master Guitarist's of all time. Plus he's been playing Guitar for 50 years or more now. Anyway thanks for teaching this version. I will look forward to seeing you do the Momma's & Poppa's version in the near future. Best Wishes to you.

P.S. The Mommas & Pappas was a Great Group in their day. Especially Momma Cass. The Guitarist's in the Group was very good but nowhere near as good as Jose was. Take Care.!
