Amy Winehouse was from my old home town (Barnet) - born in Southgate but lived her last years in Monken Hadley, a few hundred yards from where I was born. If I'd still been living there at the time she was there it's likely I'd have seen her around town occasionally. PS - Sade is pronounced Sha-DAY :) Wondering if the "Black dude who sounded like he was from Compton" was Idris Elba :)

TheBee Gees were born in Britain but they came over to Australia when they were children. So they're more Australian artists.

@@bline5891 Yeah they came to Brissy in 1958. Victorian here, I remember watching the tv when they sang as kids from Brisbane, well not same year, I was born in 1954, omg I’m sooo old lol, They were so cute. Barry only boy still alive and his older sister Lesley Gibb who’s now about 79 I think. Boys had Brilliant voices and harmonies 😊

@ What band, they were children when they came to Australia. I found this though - I wouldn’t call it a band. the Gibb brothers’ very first public performance in 1956 at The Gaumont, a nearby movie theater where children were allowed to pantomime songs on stage before Saturday matinees. *Andy was only 6 months old, older sister Lesley 13years, Barry 12years, and twins Maurice and Robin were 8 years old when they arrived in Redcliffe Queensland.
