dude is so beloved yet still so underrated. more people outside of jazz should know his playing and music.

I was introduced to his work through the David Bowie album Blackstar. I then bought a copy of Amorphae.

Ben was brilliant by 80? 81? He and a pal were students of an amazing musician at a local conservatory. That man died in 2010. That was the last I saw of Ben. I teach two young ones now. At any age, genius reveals itself. In Ben's case, very early

Ben Monder can never fail to amaze. His playing is so beautiful and complex, I strive to one day be on his level of harmonic understanding.

Incredible - I only learned of Ben Monder recently when I found his Oceana record, which was life changing for me. His harmonic language drifts from the comfortably melodic to introspective to haunting and back, and I can only imagine what a more detailed study of his work and approach will do for guitarists in the future. Thank you for this upload!

I’ve enjoyed Ben’s music so long but until now I hadn’t noticed the Lenny Breau influence. Those magic harmonic pokes from the right hand.- Love Starebaby too!

I adopted BM as a teacher I always wanted but never had. I can only hope someone tell me they feel an influence of Ben Monder in my playing... would be a darn compliment.
