Damn, I think this mission can really be hell if the yellow ai gets trampled. I invaded blue three turns later than you, but Vitja had a much, much, much larger army because her and Peridine had roll over Hammond.

Yes, time is key. Make sure to not let them take down your ally without letting them loose any settlements. Once they grow even more, you're basically done.
