I‘m not even finnish and my relationship to patriotism is not very good (a german thing I guess) but this makes me kinda homesick related to a beautiful country I never visited before. I hope I can afford to see Finland at least one time with my own eyes \m/

Suomi (Finland) is a land with melancholic people, people of not so many words. Sorrow is deep in their roots. And, of course, in the inland of Suomi there winter is a very real thing, and so also darkness. I feel like this song is so much Suomi.

I got it. There is something definitive in this song, while i am indefinitive person, so it tries to anchor me mentally so my natural reaction is to oppose it, no matter how sweet it tastes =) Wouldn't been possible without you guys, i have been listening them for years, along with this song, but it is the distraction you guys give with openess that gave this chance for old dog to learn new trick =)

It blew me away....when you go through the lyrics as well. This song helped through a dark time a couple of years ago when my sister passed away. I really love your channel and your reactions. @@1234stiaan yes. Not the same. Jukka Nevalainen was the original Nightwish drummer replaced by Kai Hahto ( Wintersun drummer) in 2014. Same first name but Jukka Koskinen is bassist currently performing in recent concerts.

Yes, Nightwish announced in August that Jukka Koskinen is now a full member of the band, joining Kai. NightWinterWishSun!

Jari is not about screaming only, his voice, he loves exploring. The harmonies, oooh. Strange how geography affects composers, or, maybe not. A month without any Sun, as it never rises above the horizon, has a depressing effect, but playing like this, and the exercise, lifts their spirits. Now you know why Jukka on bass and Kai on drums, were recruited by Nightwish!

Seeing as you love Kai so much, I have to suggest a drum cam during a clinic of one of Wintersun's as-yet unreleased songs from Time II, The Way of the Fire. There are differences between the albums of course, but I love all of their songs. I believe you'd enjoy "Loneliness", lyric video, it's simply beautiful. And, I noticed you haven't yet reacted to another well known Finnish band, Amorphis. I'd suggest for example Death of a King, The Bee, or Among Stars. Cheers!

I've just discovered the channel of you guys and have been binge watching vids all evening and well into the night. XD I love how passionate you both are about music! Keep up the amazing work! During this process, however, I noticed a couple of "reaction classics" missing. ;) Count my vote for "Elisabeth I, II and III" by Kamelot and "Masters of Destiny" by Delain; You won't know what hits your eardrums! ;P Also, if you want epic music and a very impressive (and kinda heavy) story, check out "White Pearl, Black Oceans" (the live version!) by Sonata Arctica, you won't regret it, I promise. In any case, I have subbed and will watch all vids from here on out. ;)

I think it's wild how Europe and Asia are pushing metal music while America is ignoring anything new in that genre. Of course the 1 exception is Liliac of course RoRh

In one of epic rap battle of history's videos, one of the digs is "if mount rushmore was a band, then you'd play bass". I dont get how that is a roast. Bass is important, even to someone who isnt musically inclined. Imagine all the great metal songs without bass
