KIOF handled this song absolutely smartly. It's quite obvious that Belle's vocal is not as powerful as JeA's prime and also does not have the punching effect that JeA possesses. But they arranged the song in a way that allowed Belle to do a glissando in the climax instead of going right away into the high note like the original version, which helped her get a good chest mix and execute the note correctly.

In the original version, JeA jumps straight or almost straight to the note (because she is capable of doing it) while Belle needs to slide from lower range to higher. Also, it's not that JeA unable to do whistle note, it is more likely that only Belle is confident and skillful enough to handle whistle notes. I think we can all see that in their discography so far.

@@GretaHenrici-d8o You hit the nail in the head. Belle has a nasal placement which allows for ease on higher notes, but only if you can keep your core engaged (like Taeyeon today). But you can see that there is a lot of tension in Belle's throat to push more power. In Belle's case, I think she does it for style also, maybe the company really wanted her to be the korean Ariana. Taeyeon in her early years used to have a smaller range but very grounded technique that allowed her to have that "full" sound. She was already a vocal beast before being signed to SM. Haneul is doing really well too, especially for a lead vocalist.

this, and also what @kouseiarima7982 said about haneul having a healthier technique for belting. this performance also made me realize that although the 3 older sisters are already a power house, there are still spaces to be improved. not saying that they are not good in this performance, its just that they could be an even more of a monster in the future, specially with haneul catching up that fast with belle. i dont like her whistling though, id like that to be a pure belle thing. what i want from haneul is the more stable versatility where she could continue being the foundation and backbone of the whole group.
