Greetings to the owner and guests of this channel. Dimash always looks back with grateful heart to his teachers and mentors, who has been a key factor in deepening, maturing and strengthening his life and knowledge most especially in his chosen field. DEAREST TEARCHERS AND MENTORS, my deep gratitude to you, for your great service and help for our brighter future. We would not be where we are today without your tremendous help and guidance. We will ever cherish in our lifetime the great efforts you invest in bringing out the best in us. Thank you ... Thank you.... Thank you. Dimash with great emotion sadly expressed himself in this song: Qaraǵym-aı as a tribute to his dear mentor, who contributed greatly on his life as an artist. My deepest grief for the passing away of Mentor and Maestro Kenez Duisikeev may he rest in the peace of the Lord, and my heartfelt condolence too for his grieving family at this time. Thanks indeed for this reaction video a piece of music sung by Dimash and for your great service to us. Thanks, Ester Rabi, Philippines, South East Asia

Thank you. Dimash first performed this song in March 2016. The music composer, Kenes Duisekeev, a beloved Teacher/Mentor of Dimash, recently passed away due to the pandemic. His picture is on the screen behind Dimash. This was very emotional for Dimash. The song creation history: Approximately 25 years ago, the Kazakh poet Shomishpay Sariev wrote the lyrics of the song “Karagim-ai”. He dedicated the song to his daughter, who was getting married. The father puts his feelings into the text, his worry, how the life of the daughter with her groom will be formed, what awaits her ahead. Shares with daughter about the meaning of life. The poet argues that the most important meaning of life is Love. Life lived without love is empty. The poet asks: "All life lived without love is equivalent to one day lived in love?" It is always sad to leave home and cross the threshold of of someone else’s house. That is why a bit sad moment to a daughter too. After all, the tears of the girl are not from grief, but only regret when parting with the native village, relatives. Poet asked his friend the famous Kazakh composer Kenes Duisekeev to write music. The composer during writing the music to the song, recalls his only sister, who did not have time to get married and died at the age of 19. He dreamed what a father would have felt if she would have married. Therefore, the song turned out not only about the poet’s daughter, who is getting married, but about the composer’s sister, who did not live to see her wedding. Therefore, the song feels sorrow, sadness of failed love. Dimash originally sang "Karagym-ai" at a concert dedicated to the 70th Birthday anniversary of Kenes Duisekeev (Music composer) on 26th March, 2016. The composer really enjoyed the performance of Dimash and applauded with the words "Bravo !!!" [Credit to Luena Autumn (KZbin) Laura R. for the Original 2016 performance, with English lyrics, and the Song History].

One of my favourites of Dimash's Kazakh covers but sung with SO much more emotion than I've heard him do on this song, I cried, because I remembered Maestro Professor Kenes's interview about his hesitation when Dimash approached him way back to permit him perform this song, as he wasn't sure someone so young would be able to emote the song as the Professor intended, but was happily astonished how beautifully Dimash did justice to the performance of the song. It made the way Dimash performs it here in his honour that made it so poignant. Very beautifully done Dimash!

Dimash sings often about grief. He sang SOS after the tragic passing of his friend, asking on stage what the purpose of life & death is (“pourquoi je vis, pourquoi je meurs”). He sings Karagym-ai after the passing of his mentor, regretting the departure of someone precious. He’s not singing, he’s grieving his pain on stage. Samaltau also talks about a Kazakh soldier senselessly walking to death worrying about those left behind, where Dimash transports us to a spiritual world. He did the mystical funeral thrill in Sinful Passion in hommage of the deceased original singer. To me, it’s almost like singing allows him to express his own fragility and helps him heal his own grief.

Been listening to dimash since the show , I am singer. The one thing I know about him is he feels what he sings. The song must touch him. Like. Daybreak and autumn strong. This is different they don’t portray directly his sorrow. This is personal. This is his sorrow, he respected his teacher and you can tell dimash is hurting.

I found information about the song "Karagym ai". I liked it. /// The story of the song "Karagym-ay" / "My dear". Lyrics written by Sariev Shomishbay. Music written by Duysekeev Kenes. Poet Sariev dedicates these poems to his daughter, who is getting married. In the poems, the poet conveys his feelings about how the life of his daughter will turn out with her chosen one. Father shares thoughts on the meaning of life with his daughter. In his opinion, the main meaning of life is Love. Without love, life is empty. The poet asked a friend, composer Duisekeev, to write music for his poems. The composer remembered his only sister who died when she was 19 years old. She didn't get married. That's why the song also feels the pinching sadness of the failed love. /// Dimash performed the song "Karagym-ay" on April 9, 2016 at a concert dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the composer Kenes Duisekeev. The composer was surprised by how Dimash was able to understand and convey the deep meaning of the song, despite his young age (Dimash was 21 years old at the time). After the performance of the song, the composer applauded Dimash with the words BRAVO!!!". /// Composer Kenes Duysekeev was Dimash's teacher at the university. He died on July 9, 2020 from Covid-19.

This performance by Dimash from the concert dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Kazkahstan concert company "Qazaqconcert". Many other Kazkah musicians attended this concert. Dimash has chosen the song by the composer who died in July 2020 from COVID 19 and who was one of his teachers at the music academy. This is also added the sadness to already sad song. Song is in Kazakh. Song about loving father sending away his beloved daughter into the marriage in another world. In Dimash interpretation it became the song of loving son giving the way to beloved farther who departed in another world.

The point of a good actor is to actually feel the emotions he is portraying. That's the difference between a good and bad actor- the first one feels it and makes you feel it too, the second one is only acting the feeling. Dimash's dad often says that he is only singing what goes through his heart beforehand, which means he is emotionally invested in a song

We need to weep for our losses, as well as the losses of others (we're family, whether we believe it or not). Music is vital to our process of feeling, grieving, moving on to the next step. There is no "getting over it." There is only experiencing it with honesty and compassion.

The name of the song means "Apple of my eye". It was written by the composer (I can't find his name right now)- pictured behind Dimash some years ago. He wrote it for his sister when she passed away. The term 'apple of my eye' is not meant for lovers, but for siblings and ones children. When Dimash was younger he sung it for him and he was very very pleased with his rendition. The composer was Dimash's mentor and teacher. He recently died of Covid - 19. Dimash is singing this as a tribute to this man who he loved.

Hi, dear soul reactions. It was written by Kenes Dujsekeev, the man on the screen behind Dimash... He was one of the most popular composers of our days in Kasachstan. He was also Dumas's professor at the university, where Dimash made his masters degree in composition. In juli he passed away because of Covid19. Yesterday one of the concert companies of Kasachstan - Kasakhconcert - made its 60. Anniversary concert. Dimash performed Qaragymai, the song of his TEACHER , IN MEMORY OF HIM... This is one of my favourite songs. But this is the first time I hear it in such a sad interpretation. Dimash's voice seems to emphasize the words of the song that people in this life are only guests and that it is too short...

Sic!

The words are a beautiful story by the poet Shomishpay Sariev for the wedding of his daughter... but the music, the tune composed by Kenes Duisekeev carries the sadness for his own sister who died at age 19 before she could be married. In an interview Dimash mentioned this song of one of his favourite songs. So I think that it``s no coincidence that he takes this song to honor the composer and longtime teacher and mentor of his, who died by corona virus, by singing this song in that way. The other version is not that sad. It´s faster, with clear harmonies and orchestra. So this version shows his sorrow about his loss. You can really feel it.

Dimash is definitely one of the best out there. There are three artists that I place among the "best in the world" category, Morissette (Philippines), Dimash (Kazakhstan), and Sohyang (South Korea). Each has incredible range and technical prowess while still conveying deep emotions while remaining unique in their styles. On a personal note. I wonder if you would consider reacting to the US Acapella group Pentatonix. I think you would really enjoy what they do with harmonies, counter melodies, and arrangements. They are also quite prolific with a catalog of 100+ covers and many originals on their channel from the past 9 years. When a lot of people hear the term Acapella they think of "barbershop" or choir, while they do have a few that could fall into the latter, the former couldn't be further from what they do. They are the best-selling Acapella group in history worldwide and have even garnered 3 Grammy Awards.

Based on all the info I've read and from various translations I've come up with this: Qaraǵym-aı Star of my eyes I look at you and I see what beauty is. Some people are fortunate enough to have a lot. Still we are only guests in this world. Life is too short to waste. Star of my eyes I look at you and I see a deer running. Who are those people in your path? Why does my soul cry? Who are you destined for? Star of my eyes You look at me sideways, It is full of light, it is so beautiful to me. Star of my eyes So life goes by so fast With no love in it, it's all just dust. Some, when they count the pages of life, barely find a day of love. Star of my eyes You look at me sideways, It is full of light, it is so beautiful to me. You have a beautiful look that is full of light.
