he explained most of the songs (as much as he explains anything, it's supposed to be just beautiful poerty) he did a bunch of interviews for people to understand the context so I don't really wanna paraphrase anything he said, everyone should watch it for themselves and take away the meaning. that being said, concrete kisses in not about falling in love 😭 I really recommend watching the zach sang interviewm he talked about most of the tracks there "speak in tongues" is a double meaning for making out as well most of the album is about Khai e.g. Grateful and The Time but other lines in some songs. she was a big part of him making this album. the title of the album is not just a reference to Harry Potter (tho, he did dress up as Voldemort last Halloween ), it's also based on the horror movie "People under the stairs". he recorded and made most of it at his hose IN a "room under the stairs" so that's where the name comes from. Alienated has 2 pre-recorded live performances and he did an ONO concert in London with 6 songs. he sounds even better live so if you wanna treat yourself go watch those the Z sides have 5 more tracks (4 new and the Alienated Demo) that are only produced by him

This 👏🏽 well said especially about paraphrasing...zayn gets that done to him unfairly all the time! People should really listen to Zayn interviews he explains things so well. Yes speaking in tongues is biblical where people who couldn't understand each other speaking different languages were touched by the holy spirit and suddenly they all could understand each other. Lol catholic upbringing...Zayns mother side of family is part Irish I wonder if they're Irish catholic or Irish protestant(?). Plus he used water to wine reference in unfuckwitable In nobody is listening album too. 1. Greateful (third track) is about his daughter with Gigi Hadid 2. The name of the album (Room Under The Stairs) is literally about a room under the stairs of his house where he recorded the album haha But he's a big Harry Potter fan and in one of the "bonus" songs on that album, called In The Bag, there's a Harry Potter reference in the lyrics... They are present on the album "Room Under The Stairs (Z Sides)" on his Spotify page if you want to check it out 👀 There are 4 bonus songs: Ignorance Aint Bliss, Lied To, In The Bag and Gave. 3. He did most of the lyrics and production on this album himself, but his record label contacted the producer Dave Cobb asking if he wanted to improve the production of the songs... He accepted after listening to just one song. On the album with Z Sides there is the version of Alienated with Zayn's original production, without Dave's touch.

when this album came out i let all my friends listen, most them didnt liked it, one even said i have a very bad taste of music, but that's what i like deep, dark and story telling songs, what do u say Jesse, are they right or they just dont know what good music is? btw i love your song time its my favourite from your album, autumn leaves too the song production gives so jolly bubbly vibe but the lyrics says something else, very beautiful.❤

I think What I am and Alienated are about Zayn's relationship w/ fame and the music industry. He is admitting to himself and to everyone else that even with all of the terrible things fame comes with he still loves it. He loves it even though his public persona alienates him from himself. He still would have signed the papers and this is where he's landed.

She got dropped by her label before she could release her debut album and had to slog through it herself afterwards...she very nearly gave up but pulled through and made it realised 🙏🏽 Not even Stevie Wonder, Nelly Furtado and Elton John's shout outs and praise could stop the label from firing her :(

I wonder why hardly any reactions of zayn album or a month after his album releases suddenly. All these reactions 🤔 i just thought people were focusing on Billie Eilish who like zayn is with universal Music Group...she was heavily promoted everywhere 🤔 AoTY much deserved but Unfortunately music industry hates Zayn...leaving the band meant affecting powerful people's money, he disobeyed against simon cowell ,syco, Sony RCA and Irving and Jeff Azoff. Blacklisting in music industry is real. Zayn image has been rehabilitated and suddenly there is good press/ media and the media is talking about his music....which rarely happens!!! Makes me believe zayn is not rebelling/ disobeying and is most probably being brought back into fold...lots of money to be made in 1D reunion...now that zayn has 50 percent custody he has to think about supporting his daughter even if it means compromising to to mechanachions of the music industrial complex. The Grammys changed the rules to exclude Zayn no 1 and record breaking Mind of Mine debut album which was his strongest to compete especially Pillowtalk for single award...but nothing. Then they changed the rules back the next year. Zayn rebelling against the grammys calling out the secret committees that take bribes in order to consider artists for nominations. Pillowtalk was outvoted by 1D stans at the Brit awards to make sure simon cowell and 1D won, so zayn was denied by bullying power...the smug look on Simon Cowell as he,Harry, Liam, Louis and Niall went to pick up the Brit award for history music video...simon cowell knew he had won at the propaganda game but also at the zayn blacklisting game. Zayn will never be recognised by music media, critics or general public...he's a music veteran and he understands that, it must hutr to be creatively denied and disrespected but now he has to look after and provide for his daughter so he keeps going and keep working and keep creating.

One of my favourite artists Nemahsis wrote lyrics about her being a Palestinian artist and her dealings with music industry. Her opening lyrics to her new song Stick of Gum though I find describe Zayn career and dealings with music industry so well! "I swear if I showed you a song I made, you'd say it's not your taste If anyone else but me wrote it, it's a masterpiece" She was dropped by her label for speaking out, disobeying and rebelling...like zayn did all those years ago in 1D. She is now self funding, going independent. On KZbin she went back to her old job at caewash in Canada and jumped in and listened to her new song whilst people were going through carwash machine 😅
