Your review felt extremely honest. And I appreciate that you’re not trying to push this set on everyone. After watching your video, I’d be mostly interested in the fan brush. I’m waiting for the incredible Rephr brush set and eying WG brushes, still. Thank you again.
@lamide_J5 жыл бұрын
I ordered this brush set, along with some more brushes to complete my Sonia G & Wayne Goss collection. I also have the full set of Rephr brushes coming my way, along with some other few bits and pieces: I don't know why but I have really been into brushes (& makeup) this year and have collected more than one person truly needs. I mean, I looked at my Beautylish order history and considered becoming a sugar baby!! Anyway... for that reason, I am placing myself on a spending ban for couple of months (gaaahhhhhhh - I can do this!!! It's not like I need anything else tbh). If the eye set comes out, I will probably only pick up 1 or 2 but that will hopefully be after my ban ends lol. PS: Stop stressing (per your comment below)- this should still remain your hobby regardless if it is now your career!! Please let it remain something you absolutely enjoy doing- we got you! Essay over now xx

Good Morning Michele !! I think by watching for awhile now, it seemed to me that you were not thrilled with these brushes. Since watching you I have purchased two Sonia G eye brushes and they are the best brushes ever. These don’t even look like an impulse purchase for me 😂. I’m on the list for the huge set from refer when they come out. So, I thank you again for saving me money. I can now get a Sonia G pro fave brush instead!! 💕💕💕

Lauren Boiles Interesting observation. While watching the video I had a similar thought /feeling & wondered if she was not feeling well or if it was the brushes ...I’m hoping she’ll clarify & obviously hope she’s not unwell - maybe just an off day , we all have them . After watching Mel ( Thompson ) & KinkySweat ( Alicia ) rave about them , this felt a tad lackluster in comparison . Also with the price point of Sonia G. a clearer indication would be helpful. I invested into a self-curated 5 piece eye set of hers, took my time choosing them & pondering & couldn’t be happier that I did . I think for those of us who don’t own a plethora of brushes &/or invest really carefully, this is essential to know . Maybe it’s just me & I was anticipating more gushing because honestly her brushes are THAT good ! I feel as though I’m none the wiser after this .
@laurenboiles61545 жыл бұрын
Noir, I’m glad you noticed also. What I love about Michel, is that she is honest. What I would really Love would be for Sonia G not to say these are for beginners. At that price point, I don’t see a beginner spending that kind of money on brushes. I think that might of turned her off also. Watching them in the end, they didn’t jump out and say oooh. I have a lot of Sigma Pro brushes and like I said before, I’m waiting on the refer set, but I do have 2 from Refer. They are nice, but damn those two Sonia G ones are beyond soft and just plain perfect. I think once Michele gets back from her trip to Japan, she will do a comparison of the brushes in full. I definitely would not buy them, since they should be used with a liquid foundation. How silly is that !! I feel that she lost a lot of users with that alone. Do you have a Sonia G foundation brush ? I’d be interested in hearing what you have in her line 💕💕

Thanks Lauren! These brushes are beautiful and of the same quality as all the other Sonia G. brushes I love. I don't like making excuses, but I have been catching up on filming and trying to pre-film for my trip to Japan. This was the 4th video out of 5 I did in one day, and I was exhausted to say the least. My enthusiasm was definitely dampened by the stress, and I apologize. I love these brushes, and I'm sure I'll be able to talk about them with more energy in my favorites. xoxo

I know you are filming today, but please take some time to just sit and hug your puppy !! She will let you know that everything you are doing is perfect 👌🏼. Maybe treat yourself to something yummy too, you deserve it. But, I’m still not getting them, no foundation brush 😂😂. Sending you hugs 🤗 and kiss ms fuzzy butters 🐶💕💕💕

Only video I’ve seen on these brushes that compares them to brushes from other lines and not just to other SG brushes. Thank you! I will say, though, that I wish you had washed the brushes, though (appreciate that it would have taken you longer to get out this video and that you were preparing to go out of the country) because SG says and shows on her blog how different these brushes are once they have been washed. As you mentioned, SG brushes in general fluff out quite a bit when washed and, I would think, would perform differently. Looking forward to hearing what you think about these brushes once you have washed them. Thanks, and I hope you are having a great time in Japan!

Hey Michele! Now I know you channel isn't a budget or drugstore or dupes kind of channel but would you consider making a video that is about what you would focus your spending on in luxury beauty. I'm really into buying quality over quantity right now (a little bit of a minimalist kind of approach) and I'm curious what your choices would be if you where to curate a capsule makeup/brush collection. Not necessarily a favorites video but more of a bare bones the essential things to buy in luxury beauty and brushes

Great demo Michelle! :) By the way, people like to use the Suqqu cheek brush with highly pigmented formulas like NARS Exhibit A since the Suqqu doesn't pick up much but is still able to apply them well without looking too over the top.
@j4lyphe15 жыл бұрын
I don't have the Suqqu as yet (by the end of the year hopefully) but I use a brush that is somewhat similar to it in terms of density exactly for NARS Exhibit A so that I don't end up with clown cheeks bahahahha And I'm WAYYYYYYYYYY darker than Michele (Think Lancome Teint Idole 520)

Classic Cheek looks like a giant version of one of her worker eye brushes. I do so want the face one brush...

Michelle For comparison to Songa’s Soft Cheek Brush, Do you have the Wayne Goss #14 that is the brownish red fibers. That WG brush has been a unique and beautiful brush in my collection - the perfect brush for soft pigmented blush or for a delicate touch with powders - so, so soft p, yet not bendy, just the perfect amount of resistance. I love that brush and if Song’s is anywhere near same, I need to get it as a back up as I believe ?Wayne’s brush is no longer available.

The set is beautiful! I love all her brushes but since I am cruelty free, I can’t purchase any since they are made of animal hair :( are there any other luxury brushes I can get? Or are animal hair brushes not comparable to synthetic brushes in terms of performance and quality? Thank you :)
@ljay28235 жыл бұрын
Chantecaille and Trish McEvoy have both revamped their brushes to now be synthetic. You will still find their brushes that are made with animal hair at counters and online so you have to ask/read the description. I have brushes from both lines that include old and new; NO difference in how they apply makeup!
@TheMicheleWang5 жыл бұрын
I really enjoy the Chantecaille brushes. I find them to work beautifully. And I also love the La Mer powder brush. I personally enjoy natural hair but there are some lovely synthetics on the market. I’ve also heard great things about the Artis brushes which I have not tried myself.
@virginiav.11725 жыл бұрын
@spooky katt Lots of good food for thought there and valid points. It's hard to know what to do anymore that makes me feel like I'm not having a moral dilemma in the way I spend my dollars. And while I want to think that real hair brushes come from animals that are treated humanely, deep down I still think that more than likely this is not the case and the act of "brushing" must stress the animal and it probably lives in a crowded cage, etc. While I find myself lusting after these beautiful brushes, I find I am satisfied with synthetic. I doubt we will ever be able to check every category and feel 100% good about how we spend our money.

I have a suggestion for a video!🙋♀️ It's definitely not unique, and has been done before, but... Apart from highlighters, I think makeup brushes are the next beauty product that consumers are most inundated by. As I've made my way through my late twenties, I've become really focused on having non-essential items in my life (i.e. my wardrobe, makeup collection, shoes, etc.) become'capsule' collections. Not to sound cliche, but I find that when I just limit the things I have, the more room I have in my life - and in my head - for more meaningful aspects of my life to flourish. I've been slowly chipping away at downsizing my makeup brush collection and it would be great to hear your thoughts on all the brands that are out there currently, etc.
@beatrizgbuisanbb5 жыл бұрын
I would love that, like a brush for Rach step or type of product. The basics. Sometimes it feels like "I want that brush, I'll think what I can use it for later" because they're so beautiful.

Sonia G’s are my favorite - I find them to be the most unique and beautiful and great quality. I think Chanel has gone synthetic and they’re nice synthetics but I prefer natural hair.
@jasminblute49535 жыл бұрын
I started with Chanel brushes because a) I'm a huge Chanel lover and b) they were easier to get my hands on. They're synthetic and do their job. But Sonia's brushes are on a totally different level! I have to admit: I gave away most of my Chanel brushes and replaced them with Sonia's. I only kept the Chanel double-sided eye brushes with the caps because they're really handy for travelling. I own very few Surratt and Suqqu squirrel brushes as well and with them, the difference to synthetic brushes is even more obvious. They're so soft and just perfect for e.g. the sensitive under eye area. And nothing diffuses highly pigmented products better than squirrel hair imo. I never was able to get a non-patchy application with synthetic brushes, e.g. when it comes to the highly pigmented Chanel blushes. Maybe that's because I'm not that skilled when it comes to makeup application. But with natural hair brushes, I feel like the brushes do the work for me.
