Ah. The song that lets you see the disappointing scores as someome complains "Well I heard someone say that Sonic's slightly faster than Tails. It's unfair" and we all believed that because the internet didn't exist. Nice track but it's very short and it get a bit annoying after awhile, just shows that 2P mode was an after thought but it was still great.

2P was originally to be a feature of Sonic 1, but there was no way to fit it onto a cartridge along with 1P at the time. Sonic 2 worked around this by making its files more compressed. 2P was not an afterthought, it was planned all along.

Because psg2 is different to 0 and 1 and it's not playing a Melody, it's being used as a cowbell of sorts. I tend to leave the channels which are just droning or repeating tones till last as the track sounds different without them

Yhenestik Don’t CD games systems just play music directly off the CD? The MD/Genesis actually made the music in the sound chip from the instructions the game code gave it. Thats how the channels can be switched on and off like this.
