Sonic 2 Simon Wai Prototype: Unused Stages

Green Hill is just Emerald Hill
Dust Hill is just Mystic Cave
Neo Green Hill is just Aquatic Ruin
This is why these stages are not in the video.
Wood Act 1: A few platforms and an unfinished conveyor belt. That's it.
Wood Act 2: Completely Empty
Hidden Palace 1: A few cut enemies, a Tails 1 Up Monitor, a few bridges, something that resembles the Master Emerald, a Water Slide, and some really steep slopes. Nothing else.
Hidden Palace 2: Start in a wall. Same as Act 1, but almost all stage assets are removed.
Genocide City 1: Completely Empty
Genocide City 2: Also Completely Empty

Idk why but The walking and running seems more smooth

Sonic’s walking animation had 12 frames of animation in the prototypes, but only has 8 in the final. The running animation is also different, with legs doing a cartoony blur in the prototype, which could be why it seems smoother.

I would like to take this time to point out that this video is exclusively about the stages in this prototype that were cut from the final game, hence why I only show the three seen in the video. Edit 2023 I removed the spam from the comments. Sorry it took so long

No who making a name for this zone didnt knew english and right before this zone get cut they rename this to cyber city later they made layout for this zone used in metropolis act 3(sorry im bad speak on english)

You are ok but I had another question so if sega did remove oil ocean would the use dust hill zone or they would use wood zone or they would use hidden palace?

So if they use all the zones on the screen would all the data or all the zones fit in the Sega genesis cartridge

Really this Zones aren't unused in Simon Wai prototype are unused in Final Game
