Fun Fact: At 14:54 the game loads up Angel Island zone for this cutscene; the place where Knuckles is standing is actually part of the act 1 layout! Another interesting thing is that the Master Emerald always glows if you have all the Super Emeralds. It does this in Hidden Palace, the Final Boss, The Doomsday, and even the ending.

I'm 15 and when I was less than 10 I was playing this game because on my father's computer there was the Sonic & Knuckles collection, so yeah I have nostalgia for this even if I am a gen Z and I never owned a genesis/megadrive. Hope this was interesting.

Eggman's base, the Death Egg, crash landed on the Island, so Sonic & Tails went investigate. After Eggman discovers about the Master Emerald he tricks Knuckles into believing that Sonic is the bad guy who wants to steal the Emerald and that he is the good guy trying to protect it, after that Sonic gets on the Island and the game begins!

It's a sprite thing. I forget exactly, but something about only being able to show so many colors on screen at once, and Sonic and Tails onscreen with Knuckles as well as the background forced them to replace the green socks with yellow ones
