While playing in and commentating the Fast Tails story tournament, I had a lot of opportinities seeing and comparing many Sand Hills. This lead me to realize the other day that my 3 year old IL of this stage had fallen quite far behind since I first posted it, so I wanted to come back to it. Although it depends mostly on luck whether you can get a clean run through that doesn't lose ground contact, your route and the lines you take can make a huge difference in the final time you get, and the angles you take across crests affect you likelihood of sticking to the ground. Beating my old IL was pretty easy, I probably actually had done so in full game attempts without realizing, cause my old submitted time was a high 40 and I definitely got one or two 40s during runs. But as I kept going, I got a better feel for my lines and with every clean run I finished, I had cut off another small chunk of time, until I got this time on the 5th finish, with more than a second saved total. Very satisfied with having achieved a sub 40 here
