They should really just make a remaster / re-release / remake of the Adventure games, but when you purchase them, you get 2 games in your library. The re-release / remaster / remake of Sonic Adventure DX and 2, and alongside, the original version of the game. But the steam icon has been rebranded to "Sonic Adventure DX (2010)" or "SADX Classic"... something like that. I dont think its unreasonable to think that SEGA might want to do an enhanced re-release of SADX and SA2B considering both PC releases (the vanilla versions at least) are the worst ways to play the game. They might just simply want a version of the game more "Deluxe" to the original counterparts because - while mods do exist - the average consumer might not be able to know how mods work and how to download / enable them. Although, as many have probably caught on, its SEGA. Dont get your hopes up for them to do something smart.

@ tbh I suggest the remaster being similar to Tomb Raider's trilogy remaster and ShadowMan's remaster and Asterix & Obelix XXL 1 remaster those stayed accurate to the game's artwork style like CGI and that stuff and also restored cut content for the game (ShadowMan) AND ALSO have an option to play the game in the classic style graphics for SA1 I would like them to include both DreamCast and DX classic style graphics

Just recently sega released bundle containing sonic adventure 1, 2, og generations and other old sonic games for xbox so even if they do get delisted they will still be able to be bought through the bundle because they confirmed that og generations will be resold in bundles like this on steam and xbox so most likely they wont be gone for good The bundle is called sonic the hedgehog legacy bundle with sonic adventure dx, sonic adventure 2 battle, sonic generations, sonic 4 both episodes and sonic the fighters Its new and was made for people to buy old sonic generations In the future there might be more bundles for both steam and xbox for delisted sega games

Now that's makes somekind of sense in why the Xbox got the worst treatment in de-listing aspects in consoles since in the PlayStation side the only game confirmed by Sega in being remove is the Sega Genesis Classics game on PS4, none of the PS3 digital titles were affected (as for now). Still I don't get it in why they went with the Dreamcast Collection too?, luckily the Xbox 360 got a bundle physical version with some games included like Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi, Space Channel 5 Part 2 and Sega Bass Fishing. Only downside is that the Sonic Adventure DLC (DX expansion) is not included on the disc and the worst part, the digital DLC is not compatible with the disc version for some weird reason.

Not yet. If you bought the games now, you'll have them forever! Also, believe me, people have been doing plenty to improve games while preserving them. I recently started up a Sonic Adventure playthrough with a Dreamcast visual overhaul, and this is my first time experiencing Sonic Adventure with the original graphics.

I theorised that they're planning those remake/masters ever since they pulled Sonic Adventure, Adventure 2 and Heroes SPECIFICALLY from ROM sites while leaving Sonic Riders, Shadow and the rest up there; they did similar when Origins came out and they removed Sonic, Sonic 2, 3 & K and CD from stores and other sites too, so it makes sense. Hopefully they don't give them the "DX" treatment and do give Heroes good physics if they do.

Sonic generations was delisted when Sonic X Shadow Generations came out. They might be doing a remaster game with both games in it. Ik it's highly unlikely, but we could get SA1 and 2 remaster with SA3 In it, like with SxSG. EDIT: I watch the video on mute, not knowing that it would only be unavailable in two countries. When they delisted the OG Sonic trilogy, a bunch of mods popped up allowing players to access those games - for free, I might add - through other games in the collection. Though this instance was a response to SEGA's bad decisions, I've seen it done with other games as well (mostly titles that are no longer on the market). I don't know about the Dreamcast titles, though.

I doubt there’s going to be any full remakes of the Adventure games so soon after Sonic X Shadow Generations. I’d expect a quickly remastered dual pack similar to something like Origins. The former Dreamcast collection of ports on XBLA/PSN/Steam had a lot of issues for basically every game, like SA1 was based on DX not the Dreamcast version and both it and SA2 were way buggier than their original releases (and even their GameCube ports), Jet Set Radio had weird control problems with the way it read analog movement, Crazy Taxi’s audio was horribly messed up and it lacked the original version’s licensed music, so on and so forth, so I get why they’d want to maybe redo them with a lot of those games getting sequels now. Heroes and Shadow being there would be cool, but due to license issues with the engine they run on, Renderware, I wouldn’t expect them. That engine was made by Criterion, who is currently owned by EA, have been since near the end of the 6th Gen, and I don’t think Sega would be willing to shill out to them. Kinda sucks that most of the early 2000s Sonic games exist in weird legal limbos, like Advance being published by THQ who went out of business, except not really, and now is THQ Nordic. Maybe someday they’ll try and figure those titles out to get them back out there because the only one to get any rerelease was Advance 1 on the Japanese Wii U virtual console.

I seriously doubt they would do a collection of those games, since each game is long enough and different enough that charging individually would probably just make more money regardless. That said, I hope they're planning updated ports or some kind of legitimate remaster. The versions that exist now are not even close to ideal, and they've needed replacing for a long time. It sucks that they would definitely just be selling them again (very few games just update to a newer version on Steam), but if you own the previous versions, you won't lose them.. and again, they aren't very good ports to begin with. It's not the same as Sonic Origins, where you're getting a downgraded version of the games. It would be very difficult to actually make those ports worse and get away with it at this rate. If it so happens that they're just removing the games with no plan to replace them, I don't like that, but Dreamcast emulation becoming the primary way to play the Adventure games honestly seems like a win at this point. More people playing the intended experience or something closer to it.

I thought it could be possible only if, and this is a big if, they were only doing a port of these old games without any major touch ups. I don't think people would be willing to pay more than 10 dollars individually for something like Shadow the Hedgehog, but I could easily see a collection costing 40+ dollars with multiple big hitter titles in it. That said, I agree it's unlikely. I'm 50-50 on whether they actually delist the adventure games. It's 100% a foolish move to cut off a revenue stream, even if it's as small as Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 sales these days.

This is very unfortunate. Thankfully, I got the classic Sonic collection before it got delisted. I'm also glad I already got SA and SA2 Battle. If they do end up remaking SA and SA2 in the future, then it's most likely that the old versions of these games will get delisted. They already did it with the classic Sonic games on Steam. Now as for the other Sega titles also being removed, that's also sad as well. By the way, what is the name of that fan game you are playing? I want to find it and play it. :)

It's more so that I was being a bit more dramatic than the average person with this delisting situation as a Sonic Adventure fan, so I was probably exaggerating to some. When I saw this was happening, I was flustered in the scramble to find more information to write about it. After replaying Sonic Adventure recently, this whole situation makes me sad to think a potential port to fill the void (if the game gets delisted) would be worse again and muddy more of the original vision.

Sonic is back... for the younger generation that are pretty much mindless and don't care about details or sega's greed. We haven't had an amazing sonic game since mania and sega dumped then developers for no reason thinking they could do it themselves and failed both times. Frontiers was a mixed bag saying that its the future of sonic games was a horrible idea because honestly the game feels like a side game/series. The movies are horrible and only served to rake in new fans to sell 60 buck slop remakes that are made by another company or will be tarnished and have their story ruined for no reason because they want to censor the game for Z E R O reason. Ian needs to go back to the comics... every sonic game becoming a family guy episode is just horrible they need to hire new young story tellers and developers that actually want to make a great game. All that and they dangle all this adventure era stuff in us older fans faces like a carrot on a stick most likely ending up with a horrible remake that will be made for "modern audiences." The delistings just add more onto this shit sundae and my best advice for anyone wanting to play Sega games and also show Sega that you won't support all this trash... Emulation, Support fan projects and stop buying this slop.

I definitely miss the freedom of movement absent in the boost era games. Sonic being a bit stiff is something I've come to accept, but the fluidity of movement available in Adventure 1 & 2 will always be my favorite.

You'll still be able to get them through the legacy bundle (which includes Sonic generations, SA1 and 2, Both Sonic 4 episodes, Sonic Spinball and Sonic 3D Blast)

They are delisting some real classics, Crazy Taxi, JSR, Shinobi and many others, it's a real shame. Delisting sa1 and 2 isn't that that bad. Throw in Sonic 4 ep 1, and Forces into that mix and clean up the brand a bit.

Oh my God. I wish you people would stop acting as if Forces is some spawn of Satan that did more damage to the franchise than every other bad game combined. It was literally just mid, and that is the end of it. Stop repeating takes from other Sonictubers for internet points.

Sonic Forces is a Sonic Generations 2 (Modern and Classic gameplay style with a new addition in the OC) that is undoubtedly the worst entry in the boost formula. Sonic 06 still had good level design, even if I agree Sonic 06 is the worse game. Sonic 06, Sonic 4: Episode 1, and Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric are the worst games (unless we want to go so far back as to talk about Sonic Blast and others). Sonic Forces has bad level design, a worse control scheme for Modern and Classic Sonic, and a half baked story with mediocre cutscenes. It's well below mid in my opinion.

@@WeebiestBear Well below mid still isn't nearly enough to be the "franchise-destroying hell game" you lot all act like it is. The only thing Forces destroyed was discourse within the community. People were literally ready to throw hands over Frontiers using the same Sonic model as the one in Forces.
