When I played this a while back, beating the storm station boss sent me back to sugar splash zone act 3. Other than that massive bug that ruined the ending so I couldn’t finish the game, I greatly enjoyed this version of ats. It’s a shame that this got canceled, I assume due to its poor reception. If they just fixed the ending and made the harder bosses a toggle-able option, this could have been the definitive version of ats. Love the widescreen and bug/physics fixes this version brought. I wonder if that ats 23’ rc version will be any good, assuming it even gets finished🤷‍♂️

Ahh yes, one of the first poorly received remaster that started it all.. There's a lot of additions I like (remastered cutscenes, seeing Mighty in the Technology Tree Boss, etc.) and a lot of additions I hate (Sugar Splash's scrapped boss re-added, overuse of smooth sprites that's in every remaster, don't really care for the wide-screen).

The game is wonderful, the designs, the Sprites, the zones, but there is one problem that bothers me and they are the bosses. The bosses made them harder by making it unplayable, but the game is excellent. Undoubtedly, another jewel of Lakefeperd, again Lakefeperd has made a history worthy of being in the classic era. And as I said the only thing that worries me is the difficulty of the bosses ... But the rest is wonderful.

That’s a problem exclusive to satso, the original game as well as atsdx have much easier bosses(the parhelion boss only has the final section in the old games for example) but you lose out on that 16:9 1080p(and the drop dash if you’re playing the original ats)

I beat up to Storm Station with all the emeralds, but since I'm on Mac and can't play cutscenes, as soon as I beat the boss it sent me back to Sugar Splash 4 of all levels. I refuse to watch gameplay of the final level until I can somehow manage to beat it.

Not necessarily, theres nothing that prevents this game from taking place in between, since there’s no scene of angel island at the end of sonic 2, nor is there a scene of tails catching sonic in the tornado at the beginning of sonic 3

Although the only justification for this phenomenon is that probably only in this dimension he can use the chaos emeralds (dream dance zone) and that it is connected with the gods, even if they did something very bad (although it's clear here, lakefeperd in the DX version he just added as a joke). I think that fans game created sonic after the sequel not for story before sonic 3 sequel they think that story after sonic 2 sequel because sonic and tails look angel island break on the sea like sonic origins eggman death egg base, because that insident same like sonic 3& knuckles sonic origins cutscene, and i recomend from connection story after you playing sonic 2 1992, or sonic 2 absolute, or sonic origins 2 you can playing sonic after the sequel game because that story related for the story before sonic 3 & knuckles begins, actualy you play sonic 3 and knuckles on sonic air or sonic origins related fifty fifty percent if you play sonic 3 & knuckles after sonic after the sequel because that story before sonic and tails come to angel island and oh yeah after sonic 2 if you play sonic after the sequel on my recomended you can play sonic hoshi before after the sequel but you really waiting for playing full game because sonic hoshi that game it's still demo and not completed stage i hope sonic hoshi become a good games and add sprite for you choice like add sonic 3 sprite, sonic mania lite or sonic after the sequel sprite, because them all add sprite choice that game is could be fun..
