by the way. i suppose you actually know it, but to use the hot-rod you need to keep the item button for 2-3 seconds and then release the item button to keep the boost, when you want to detonate it, you only have to press the item button again. if you just press it once, it detonates instantly

COBI for the hot rod. as soon as you use it don't press the item button again until the arrow reaches the grey or red part so that way you get like a quick 3-5 second boost AND THEN you press the item button again before it overheats after the red area.

A Stat 6 Boost is SOOO much faster then a Stat 6 Speed. Boost alone is faster then Speed, obviously, but if you're good enough to keep boosting a lot, then having a higher boost Stat is the one you need. Just a quick tip. But, be careful as sometimes you have a bad handling, and that can get you off your game easily if you're not good enough. What I would try and get is a high speed Stat and a higher boost Stat, like even a Stat 4 speed and 5 Stat boost is good enough, even with a Stat 2 handling, though that's for me as I can control it really good. On the first track you raced on, at that little jump, keep drifting and roll away from the camera twice, and you'll gain even more speed when you land, while holding your drift. Everyone take these tips and have fun beating more opponents!

You're also probably just tapping the item button multiple times causing it to explode so again, use the item button once for the hot rod and then tap it again around the grey or red area.

Cobi, for the controller pro, try using the x button instead. That is also an item button, and is what the game says to use. So, just tap x and then tap x again at the end. Everyone thumbs up so Cobi can see this message.
