Archie is pretty much its own universe and has been severed from the Canon universe. Then in Canon sonic does care about Amy, It just took him a while to come around. It wasn’t until she calmed down and stopped chasing that he finally started to consider her as a dating option. But thirdly we can’t act like they both didn’t make bad choices in terms of dating. Amy couldn’t take a hint and leave sonic alone. Sonic was also a bit of a player because of his cockiness. But both of them learned from their mistakes, and everything worked out.
