Sonic Boom Knuckles Unleashed - Episode 1 - Melpontro Sonic Unleashed Mod

The time has finally come
Model Rigging - Twilightzoney and Daku.
Sonic Boom Knuckles the Unleashed was taking a long walk on the beach enjoying the brilliant scenery of the Apotos coast. He was lost deep in thought, trying to unravel the secrets of the universe. However, this deep thought was soon broken by a shriek of terror. Sonic Boom Knuckles the Unleashed raced towards the noise. He saw a helpless ice cream cone being tormented by robots from the nefarious Dr. Eggman. Sonic Boom Knuckles the Unleashed could not stand by and do nothing. He raced toward the robot and quickly defeated it and saved the poor cone. The person graciously thank Sonic Boom Knuckles the Unleashed but told him some disturbing news. The entire beach had been taking over by evil Eggman robots. Sonic Boom Knuckles the Unleashed springs into action to save the world from Dr. Eggman's Tyranny. Only time will tell what adventures Sonic Boom Knuckles the Unleashed will go on.

I remember hearing about knuckles being in this game originally. With the Japanese title of this game being 'Sonic World Adventure' this probably coulda been another adventure like game. Knuckles having beat'em up style gameplay (not completely), Tails having...something that fits him, and Sonic having speed (not boost to win) gp, with all level having influence on exploration. Each person explore the danger areas but having abilities that takes each person to unique places, and maybe even resulting in completely different places.

You know, as much as people keep bagging on Unleashed because "omg werehog, how dare they, that's not a fast character!" at least the combat system is engaging and a LOT more fun than Sonic Boom's combat system. The Werehog may be completely different compared to the Day Stages, but at least they work.

I don't see how much of a difference it would make by replacing Knuckles with the Werehog. I would have liked to have seen both though. Funnily enough, Knuckles and Shadow were originally going to appear in the game but were scrapped for unknown reasons. It's a shame because I would have loved to seem them in the story. They could have made the Werehog more acrobatic and faster to improve the gameplay. I never had a big problem with the Werehog but I felt the execution of the gameplay could have been so much better than how it was originally done.

Steve Spud Unfortunately, they never revealed why they were scrapped. During E3 2008, they said that Knuckles and Shadow would be involved in the story but they never made it. Fun fact though, Shadow is mentioned in a quiz on the HD version of Unleashed. I have no idea why they scrapped them. It's a shame because it would have added more diversity to Sonic Unleashed. I would have loved to play as them in the game. Knuckles could have played a very important role in this game, especially considering he is guardian of the Master Emerald.

Like I've said before this just fits in perfectly. It just reinforces the thought of "why the hell did Sega think a werehog was a good idea?". Seriously, knuckles (either boom or regular) fits the style waay better. No need to come up with a ludicrous character idea like a half hedgehog half wolf creature.

You see, this game was made in the wake of Sonic2K6, which caused the vocal fandom to outcry for Sonic to be solo. They needed the tightly packed Werehog stages to balance out the absurdly long Daytime stages in order to keep the game a decent lenght, and rather than rely on another character and possibly incur the wrath of the fandom(Knuckles actually WAS going to be in Werehog's place) they decided to just develop a new character that was technically still Sonic.

minigunexo Yes. A game made up entirely of daytime stages would be incredibly short because of all the data that miles and miles of beautiful daytime stage sucks up. A secondary, slower style of gameplay was introduced in order to help give the game some extra length without eating up all the space. The only other option they could have used would be to approach it like Sonic Colors did and recycle the hell out of what little they would have by setting up multiple small acts in one stage. Or doing a bunch of two minute little spurt stages like the did with the extra acts in Unleashed.
