"We ran through the check point so fast . . ." There's a quirk of the coding that if you somehow get ahead of the screen, you don't count as being there for the purpose triggering things. And if you get too far ahead, you go into a value that the game doesn't think exists, so it sends you all the waay to the opposite side of the map as you left the screen on.

Its not really a "quirk" rather just the game trying to run as efficiently as possible by unloading objects if you can't see since there's really no point in doing so. Remember, this game is on the SEGA GENESIS.

Sonic's moving so fast to the point where in one frame you basically teleports through objects rain for a second looks like FPS Warframe Special Works like two pictures that are slightly altered but are technically the same thing if you move fast enough per frame you teleport a larger distance the faster you go meaning you're able to teleport through objects
