(So i did explain this in another video) So I did played Sonic CD. At the beginning, you are in the third act and final boss in sonic cd. Sonic successfully defeated Eggman to able to free little planet (Little planet if im mistaken comes around in a specfic time). While freeing little planet, the planet should shrink down to its original size but of how im seeing that little planet has not got the good future of how little planet is robotizied and is coming down to Earth/Sonic World. You as Sonic is running away and trying to find a safe place to take cover. So Sonic got in Labyrinth Zone to be safe. After you reach to the end you will see "The Time Stone" not the chaos emerald. Of how the Time Stone is exclusively belongs to little planet of how time flows much different there and the time stone is an artifact that can change the future when collected all. But as you can see, there is only one. Grabbing it forced Sonic to go to the near future and even helped him get out of the stage. As you can see, the destruction of little planet has affected his world. You can see ruins of sonic cd stages. Palm Tree, Stardust Speedway, Metalic Madness, etc. After you experiencing the many places that you been in, you find out that your friends are dead during the impact of Little planet. The voices that you are hearing, are the spirits of the animals and flowers of little planet that you were trying to save. Taunting you and hating you of how you didnt gave them the good future that they wanted. Even by the little detail as the single flower that sonic is seeing slowly dying, was the flower of Little planet and those flower was the power source that Eggman was using for his robot, being trapped. By the guilt, sonic committed suicide in the first place that started his adventure and trying to defeat eggman.

The specific time that Little Planet comes around, If I remember correctly it is a specific month(as an example I’ll use January) each year. And it can only appear in the same Month. Kinda like a birthday. Sonic Mania is the exception, since Little Planet was forcibly dragged by Classic Dr. Eggman using the Phantom Ruby.
