yeah supposedly when EA bought Bioware they had to remake all the songs super quickly because of copyright issues but this was one of the few that they didn't need to remake for whatever reason. It's not confirmed as far as I know but it would explain why this sounds like actual music and the rest of the game doesn't.

Thing is, he needed to redo the OST in A 2 weeks and B the tools he was given because the game couldnt whyever play mp3 (or they were too big in size form) were messy, and nobody wanted/couldn't help him with the situation.

It literally was. The budget for this game wasn't actually put into this game, it was put into Dragon Age. As a result, the large majority of the soundtrack is MIDI rips from fansites, this some being one of the exceptions (Edit: OK he didn't actually take the MIDIs from the internet, they were most likely emailed over from Sega's archives, as if that's any better)

You know, when attacking as Sonic in this fight, if you miss a few clicks for the timing on purpose, it actually makes for a good final battle. I did that and the fight lasted 7 rounds. Makes for a good final battle.

Ah yes, a perfect example of "Long Song, Short Scene." Thing is, a simple remedy to this would've just been to actually have a command ring in the final battle, with the only move option being "Super Sonic." Then the player could at least sit there and listen to this amazing piece before one-shotting Ix. Instead, they have to mess up on purpose to hear it all LOL.

I would propably make it more like both the boss and super sonic have multiple attacks to choose from and instead of a life bar there is an amount of energy left which can be decreased by taking damage and it will also decrease each turn. When a meter runs out, of say: Ix he would revert back to his original form and then super sonic would finish him off. Just an idea.

I think of the Super Sonic phase as more of a finisher than an actual boss fight, since we get 3 actually hard phases before it and the game goes directly from one to the other. The actual final boss are all those 4 fights together.

In all honesty, I was a little disappointed that the final battle between Super Sonic and Ix was just a huge QTE. I would have loved for it to have been an actual fight where you were just this superpowered Sonic against Ix. Heck, even let you bring in a full party with Super Sonic, make it feel like a real finale. That would have been amazing, I'd dig it.

A lot of people were expecting a good and challenging fight but the reason why it was so easy was to show how powerful Super Sonic was compare to Ix. Ix stood no chance against Super Sonic and that is why this fight was super easy. Not to mention, Super Sonic has fought Metal Overlord and Chaos who were more powerful than Ix

The True Final Boss of FF X was Braska's Final Aeon. The fight with Yu Yevon was symbolic. He became just a spiritual parasite of Sin, he couldn't really be strong without a host.

To be honest, I have the same opinion, except that you should play the MOTHER series too. Other RPGs feels... bizarre. There's a special Nintendo atmosphere in the Mario & Luigi, Sonic Chronicles, Paper Mario and MOTHER series that makes the game extremely fun and playable.

DS's audio quality really wasn't the best. It supported uncompressed 16-bit samples for the music. However, this is just an .mp3 converted on DS hardware. I think I like the crunchy audio though! Makes it sound grittier!

@flippymaster02 I never heard the whole thing until now, but there was a time I stalled the fight to experiment how many commands I actually needed to beat him, because on my second run, I missed the last shot but still finished him. I think New Game+ should at least make the bosses harder.

Honestly, I feel this game tends to get some flak from people based upon the fact that it's a Sonic game trying some new things. While nothing was ever truly excellent that they did (Combat seemed like it was trying to add an interactivity element to distinguish it from a basic JRPG but didn't quite hit the mark like Mario And Luigi does, characters could've been a bit better balanced, the story was serviceable but seemed a little odd for a Sonic game and kinda starts to drag in the second half, the game's boss fights tend to carry a little less weight than most 2D or 3D Sonic games (No better is my point explained than by the final fight against Ix, which ends just as a normal battle would, and it doesn't really make him seem like much more of a threat than the enemies fought prior because, well, if anything he's LESS of one.), and the soundtrack doesn't really stand out in my head like most other Sonic games, good or bad.), I'd still say it's a decent game. It's not a great RPG, like SMT Strange Journey or the Mario and Luigi games, nor is it really terrible. Just an okay game to pull out that tried some new ideas that could've been better implemented.

***** Now take it easy, I'm not looking for a fight. To be perhaps a bit clearer, I get WHY people don't like it. I spent a good part of that paragraph detailing the game's flaws. My eventual point was that the things in it didn't get to me as much, and while I completely agree that it's got major flaws and did some things that didn't work, I personally enjoyed the game well enough on it's own merits. It's not life changing, not meaningful, not even necessarily worth anyone's time, but decent enough in my book. If you disagree, that's your opinion.

the fight gets epic if you let it drag on nonstop for 20 turns. it actually becomes a challenge since there are no break and you have to keep all that health. but yea its fun if you dont kill him and let it drag on like 20 turns!
