Sorry, I'm on Sonic for this one. sure SCU was a mess, but their only mistake was trusting blind Squirrel, which after doing some research, their work isn't really great, especially when making a port to the switch. Plus, that game isn't just riddle with bugs, it was broken in half. Sure Sonic Origins wasn't what everyone was expecting, but even if it has a few bugs, it is fun to play through, especially with Amy Rose. Sonic Frontiers is being fixed left and right with every single update, and ngl, I had a lot more fun than I thought, and seeing Tails, Knuckles, Amy Rose, and possibly Sage playable, my hopes for this game is getting bigger. And while yes we can't say if Superstars will fall into being "rushed" and we don't know if they will deliver the promise, there is a lot of good things being told about the game, and while it is sad we don't get a chance to have online co-op, it's also understandable and the battle mode looks awesome. Maybe I am just being a bit optimistic, but I think this is going to turn out great.

You know what, at this point I'm just one of those people who didn't have that much issues with Frontiers and wondering less about if he even likes Sonic games anymore more, and more about if he's one of those people who needs to pick up Spark the Electric Jester 3 to maintain a love of High Speed Platformers altogether.

Sonic frontiers was not that bad. Sure it had its issues and I didnt like the final boss, but the music, fights, and the Titan boss fights were amazing. Definitely one of the better sonic games to come out since.....well a while.

It's a glitchy broken mess of a game that many fans even try to fix it and Sega once try to pass it up as a "feature of the game" and not a glitch lol but I didn't wanna deep dive into here.

Plus I'm sure SEGA was referring to that this playstyle is the first big step in the franchise rather than it being "test demo" from what I'm understanding from ya. @@shadow759Are you referring to the slingshot-because that is one of the most important aspects for speedrunning. Sega has the western mentality of game design-if a bug enhances the core gameplay, don't fix it.

Ok I get this is going to sound VERY nitpicky... But if you are going to mention Frontiers, might as well go over the issues there. For the record I do know the issues it has such as people improving the speed, the physics, and oh my those cyber space levels. People have made mods improving the game in many ways. The game was a mess at the start, not as bad as other Sonic games, but enough to still look bad. That said it’s bad to lump in Sonic Frontiers with other Sonic games that don’t get updates... After it already has! It’s literally mainly known for these updates and how they improve the game in not just adding small stuff, but fixing issues people had. Like including the spin dash and taking a page from a few mods to improve the game for the better. I know you don’t like the game and that is 100% fine, I just don’t think there should be false info in that it’s actually as big as a mess as Colors ultimate is.

I meant for that part to mean something against Sega, seeing it’s questionable that fans have to even make mods to improve the game in the first place (though a lot of games do get such treatment. It’s an issue when many suggest mods to really improve a game, as in the devs didn’t make the game as good as it could be). My point was in the later part where I do feel they do try to update it and actually learn from a few mods, and actually make the game better overall... Again I understand if I’m being nitpicky, but I feel these points don’t hurt to mention.

While we shouldn't criticize a game before it releases, we shouldn't overhype it either. Even Sonic Frontiers' new update might not turn out to be as good as we'd expected it to be.

While the initial trailer hyped me and I'm still quite optimistic for Superstars, I can't really put my hand on the fire due to SEGA's overall management and the development team behind it (even with Ōshima alongside them). The game looks fine and I really dig the concept of using the emeralds individually, but it sometimes looks very polluted visually and some of the level designs didn't appeal me, Speed Jungle with tubes and automation being the biggest offender of that. That said, while I'm optimistic about Superstars, I wouldn't be surprised if something could go wrong. SEGA isn't really treating Sonic well recently, with the slight exception of Frontiers' constant updates, kinda smells like they're relying on brand loyalty and that might lead the series to a bad direction, even if there are good concepts for future games

Frontiers and Origins Plus have been getting a lot of attention from Sega this year with several patches and updates so they are actually good despite a few critiques with the 3rd Frontiers update. Sonic Colors Ultimate may still be a mess with the story, somewhat patched glitches and in-game lighting but the game itself is still fun. And now with Superstars out, I can say a few things. The game itself is fun. The boss fights just go on for a little longer than they should, and the music is mostly good. (I genuinely enjoy some of Jun Senoue’s tracks. Don’t judge me.) Trip’s story may be hard but it can still be fun. The true final boss honestly kinda sucks and I’m not defending it. And the emerald powers may be hit or miss depending on the person but they’re not bad at all.
