this one's been a long time coming, huh! so funny story: in addition to waiting out recording this one for a while, rendering the actual video nearly bricked my laptop for real. seriously, it took like 5 tries, each of which had VERY long waiting periods. the 4th attempt had me waiting about 48 total hours for a corrupt file and it nearly broke me.
BUUUT, it did at least get me to clean some stuff from my hard drive. so that's cool i guess. laptop, please do not do this to me ever again.

The best part of all of this is that the story is actually compelling, answering even details like the two Shadows in episode 1, and also that Daedalous was behind the experiment of turning hedgehogs into humans. Heck, there are even theories that say that Silver's backstory is actually a misinterpretation of the Daedalous Initiative Gerald mentions at the end.

Sorry for necroposting this comment, buuuuut.... I'm fairly certain that the Sonic we see in this is another Shadow. Think about the project specifications, it seems they were supposed to be able to turn into a human without extensive surgery. We see Sonic literally turned into a human, and it's not just that, think about how they described him walking down the street with a smoke in his mouth: Dressed Gothic, with his hair dyed Red. He's wearing Shadow colors as Human Sonic. In episode 1, Sonic, Shadow, and the gang ran into a second Shadow on a bench. We all laughed about the exchange where Sonic pointed at both of them, and at the woods. What happened then? Both Sonic and Shadow ran into someone in the woods, Amy for Sonic, and Elise for Shadow. By this time, it's evident Sonic was already having his memory issues, and he later says he remembers nothing between Sonic's apartment meeting with Shadow and Knuckles, and becoming a human. By this time, he was already being controlled. As for Shadow's "User", it's generally assumed to be Silver, as Silver not only claims to be Shadow, but he also pulls out the PS2 Cube and literally boots up Shadow The Hedgehog. Then again... did we ever see Knuckles after those exchanges with Silver?

OH! Knuckles *DID* mention that someone unraveled their timeline in the first episode! Holy shit! If that’s the case, he’s probably not an actual wizard. People from Middle Ages probably just thought he was because of all the futuristic science things. And he played along with their interpretation by writing this book. Also, I thought of something else. Daedalus totally admitted to stealing Sonic’s memories between talking to him about Elise being evil and him becoming human... but he *never* confirmed that he was the one to actually make him like that. In fact, right before that he actually asked Rouge what she meant by someone turning into a human. And he didn’t really gain anything by asking something she should’ve already known the answer to... so maybe he really didn’t know? Also, it’s super strange that he would erase that entire time period EXCEPT for his own name. It doesn’t make any sense. So, here’s what I’m thinking: Daedalus begins somehow influencing Sonic when they talk alone in the hotel room. But then Sonic died, which, by Daedalus’s own words, “wasn’t supposed to happen”. Which, in turn stopped whatever he was doing, which is why, after resurrecting, he couldn’t remember what happened during that time. While Daedalus’s name was probably implanted in him to make him target him, because why would Daedalus, if it really was him, just leave his name in the open like that? Now, let’s think who else could’ve done it, then. It’s not actually too difficult to determine. After all, only two other people even know the name “Daedalus”. Which are Jason King and Gerald Robotnik. Others, like Vector, have never even heard of him. But when Sonic confronted Jason, he didn’t seem to know that Daedalus is doing anything at all. If anything, he reacted as though it’s been a long time since that name was ever brought up. Now, Gerald, on the other hand... he knows a lot of stuff. He was personally involved in both Project Shadow and the Daedalus Initiative. Plus, he was the one who told “Shadow” that Sonic was dead in the first place! Which, need I remind you, happened AFTER Sonic was already human. Further proving that Daedalus couldn’t have been the one to do it. Also, right after showing him that, Gerald did his strange and confusing mini-monologue about.. what exactly? Oh yeah! Creating life and cheating death! All I’m saying is... this part fits WAY too perfectly to be a coincidence (besides the fact that it literally is a coincidence, since.. y’know.. AI and shit). What do you think? I haven’t seen anyone else with that idea.

I still have a theory (building a little off this one) that after Silver-Shadow disappeared and was assumed dead, Daedalus took his form like he said but because the original Shadow was NOT dead and was actually Silver, then Silver got some amount of control over the fake Shadow. And this is why Silver called Daedalus-Shadow "pure evil", and stuff like the two Shadows in part one and Shadow appearing for one line in the middle of Daedalus' reveal in part two, and the "user" comment being Silver-Shadow controlling Daedalus-Shadow during the talk with Elise, AND that'd explain Shadow being grossed out by the kiss (not that an explanation is really needed there) because Silver's been grossed out by Romance With Girls before (and Elise might very well be his mom or stepsister or something, so double ew) but he might not be able to think up a good excuse for why he's grossed out that isn't giving anything away so that's why the marriage thing. A lot of this theory is that I still think that Silver isn't the villain because he's been like the most harmless character in this script (and I like him) and I don't think he was lying about his weird backstory (misinterpreting things and misremembering yes) and I also read the "I am Shadow The Hedgehog" cut as, after the game booted up, Silver was controlling Shadow and he was just saying everything Silver was saying. I think that Silver's been trying to work behind the scenes to Fix Things this whole time. None of my theory has any ideas about the Satan thing though. No idea what's up with that that isn't just "Gerald was wrong/lying" and I tend to dislike explanations that rely on some character just wholeheartedly making things up, at least for my own theorizing. (EDIT: rewatched the "Silver is Satan" scene again and I do have a theory about that one, mainly that Gerald said they COULDN'T CONTROL the specimen and that he worked for the military. "Incarnation of Satan himself" might be a little bit biased and mean that Silver-Shadow caused a lot of problems and pain for the people working on the project and might not actually mean he's evil. If Jason King assumed he was evil, though, and cleaned up the government's problems, that'd only be beneficial...)

That theory also ties up the loose end of "King Gerald" because if Gerald really was the scientist at the head of the Daedelus project back in its hey day he would likely be viewed by a young Silver as it's king. If Epirus is a metaphor for the test subjects escaping then that means Soleana is a metaphor for the lab... In Silver's story Eggman destroys Soleana... that's odd. Notably Daedelus is shown on multiple occasions to hate robots (walking with Silver in part one and the stealth mission in this part) perhaps that's why. Also in part one Elise names shadow, who we know know is Daedelus, as the one who destroyed her city (soleana) so perhaps Eggman really was framed as Gerald suggests and the destruction of the program was Daedelus's doing all along... Also all the test subjects from the program so far then would have powers over the mind. Daedelus can create illusions, Silver can presumedly wipe memories, and Elise can "control" people. I would like to think that Silver isn't literally Satan incarnate but rather that Gerald views him as such. He's the "fallen prince" of the program's candidates. While Daedelus has retained his programming and mission to conquer, Silver is, for the most part, just content to hang out and be friendly. Not to say he won't have a stake in the plot but rather that he's likely to turn sides one way or the other given his, ahem, naiveté. I both love and hate how this plot refuses to be not interesting

The prophecy book reminds me of a plot device in one of my friends story. It was the wall of prophecies, but it was hilarious because it was a record of everything, and nigh infinitely long. Half the time you read it, it would inadvertently delve into reading about reading about it. Because it prophecied you reading it and etc etc. The best joke bit about it was EVERYONE knew this wall existed, but it was so bloody hard to find info in it, no one used it except in like, apocalypse scenarios where there was no other option.

Personally, I think I wanted you to react to this because of how enjoyable I felt the previous episode was, added that you know Sonic lore and to me that just really steps up the content. And for the story on itself, I think it's really just how AI Dungeon handles it that makes it kinda wonky, speaking realistically. It's really good at raising questions and not finding a solution to them. Since Penny and the others seem to like doing improv, I'm half expecting the third episode (or later) to answer these questions with some of their personal inputs or strategies. If not, the scenarios they have been able to build are still absolutely golden imo. They're even more fun when you get to see it coupled with a good reaction I'm really happy you managed to post this despite all the trouble. Massive respect on that. This made my day, so thank you!

It actually has legs to stand on. Gerald said, from my memory, that Shadow/Deadalus was meant to be a double agent, but he might have gotten Deadalus and Silver (who originally looked like Shadow) mixed up. Knuckles having been memory wiped by Silver also adds up since he now knew who Silver truly was, which could jeopardise Deadalus's plan, so he memory wiped Knuckles, but Tails was in the crossfire. The only hitch is Sonic not remembering anything from the bathtub-bed talk in his hotel room to being revived by Deadalus. Shadow/Deadalus was the person he talked to and was revived by so Deadalus could have wiped his memories after or during Sonic's revival, instead of Silver. We know Deadalus has some form of magic power, having memory wiped Sonic, being able to switch from being Shadow to being Deadalus and reviving Sonic in the first place, so that's still on the table. Silver also mentioned that Soliana was "Rich with magical power" and if other theories proposed are true, (Silver's epic anime backstory was actually an altered experience of Project Shadow) then that could mean that Deadalus and some candidates had some type of magic already, including Silver. Deadalus is also able to control Sonic, as with the whole "reptilian eyes" thing. Deadalus could have controlled Sonic and forced him to say and do certain things against his will, ("I'm sorry, I tried so hard to contain it!" -Sonic, just before he fights Jason King, indicating that something else can make him do things against his will, presumably Deadalus) this also explains his...odd fashion sense around halfway through. So, if he could control Sonic, and those random guards in Chaotix *and* said that they have "power over the mind", who's to say he didn't control silver? Or that Silver, oblivious to Deadalus's wrong-doings, helps Deadalus. (this is so much longer then I thought it was going to be lol)

He does work for the government as basically a secret agent for this organization called G.U.N. but he’s also very independent and would absolutely go rogue if he disagreed with their actions He and Sonic are really competitive with each other and can be really tense at times with Shadow being disapproving of Sonic’s recklessness (a good example would be an issue of the semi-canonical Sonic comics by IDW, where Eggman gets amnesia and is living a peaceful life as a handyman, Shadow wants to kill him while he can’t fight back in case Eggman ever gets his memories back and returns to villainy, while Sonic is opposed to that, feeling that amnesiac Eggman is effectively a different person who doesn’t deserve to be punished for Eggman’s crimes, Sonic even fights Shadow to protect Eggman before Shadow eventually decides to trust Sonic on this) So in the case of this, regardless of what Mayor King did or didn’t do (I don’t even understand much about him other than that he apparently defended Eggman in court once) it may be less to do with caring about Mayor King and more his own rivalry with Sonic and not liking how he’s going about any of this, showing up and immediately beating the shit out of someone in a room full of witnesses

Wait so I think I've figured out some of the lore. There's two versions of Shadow: Silver, who's playing as Shadow, and Daedalous, who's disguised as Shadow. This explains the two Shadows seen before. Sonic is being controlled by an evil (or fake) Elise up until his death, which explains his weird conversation with Eggman. After his death, he seems to be partially controlled by Daedalous, which is why he's happy to see the city destroyed. Someone else suggested the Silver's retelling of his backstory could be him mis-remembering the Daedalous initiative and Project Shadow. He sees Gerald as his father due to being around him all the time. A group of scientists (or someone else) were trying to free all the test subjects when the meteor hit. Silver tried to go back, which is what allowed him to live, but altered his appearance. It seems like Sonic and the original Shadow were also a part of these experiments, but were not as successful as Silver, due to them not being the incarnation of Satan Daedalous (and possibly Gerald) used the video game to control a fake Shadow, which Silver managed to get his hands on somehow. Honestly when it's all written out, the plot is surprisingly decent and makes more sense than some Kingdom Hearts plotlines. I applaud the AI lmao.

There's a theory on KZbin by someone called Shade boi and it tries connecting the plot of the story and in the comment section I made a comment about a small additional add-on that could apply to the theory, you can watch it for an attempt at understanding things and Snapcube in the comment section said that the video is canon so I guess it works
