Sonic Forces - Death Egg Remix

Probably my favorite Classic Forces remix to date, Death Egg actually sounds pretty good if you choose the right instruments. I'll be completely honest though, I don't get how simply changing the style of the song from basic "FM" to full on high quality instruments makes everything a whole lot better. Everything that was done to the Classic music's instrumentation was just... eugh... but if the composers at least did something like this, the Forces' soundtrack could have been much more well received in the fanbase.

I’ve been waiting for this for a while, Death Egg is one of my favorite themes from Forces, and this is a really good remix. To be honest though, I really like the Forces soundtrack, even Green Hill, and I really like your remixes, but I can’t really say one is better than the other. I like them both for different reasons. I think I can tell you why. This game actually has great soundtrack COMPOSITIONS. But the issue isn't the composition, it's the instrumentation that makes the songs lose quality. Turret is essentially fixing the one bad part about these songs, and that helps realize the full potential of the tracks. At least, that's my take haha

Classic Death Egg is the best stage in Sonic Forces IMO. The music is good even without remixes (and remixes make it only better), the visuals are really cool as a whole, the level design itself is nowhere near as bad as the other Classic stages and did i mention it looks really cool?

I noticed that in recent years, Ohtani's style has become much more apparent and specific. Take Tee, Jun, or Hayata, it's almost always apparent who's who by the little stylings in their tracks. Ohtani, however, lacked this for the longest time. It seems like he was experimenting for about a decade, trying electro, sampled music, big band jazz, rock, and yet it never had that same personality from the composers I mentioned above. However, I feel like now I can accurately pin down what makes him tick. It's a combination of strong chords, and even stronger melodies. Forces isn't the best example, but looking at the semi-lackluster avatar tracks and the superbly composed classic tracks, this is relatively apparent. I'm also seeing this in some of his stuff for Team Sonic Racing OST, but to a lesser extent.

Usually a remix can take around 2 - 5 hours to complete, though rarely it's bumped up to around 6 - 8 depending on how difficult it is to transcribe into FL Studio. After everything is fully arranged, however, production will start going faster once I work on fixing instruments, adding effects, etc., but overall it always takes a couple hours to finish a remix.
