People don't like Big because they think he's a good character, they like him for the Memes. I was actually okay with Big in Sonic Heroes, he was fine in that game. And Sonic Prime is an animated series, not a video game. I'd rather watch Big fishing instead of Play as Big fishing.

As much as I hated going for 100% with Big in Sonic Adventure 1, I'm so glad he's making a real return to the series. Big is a rare spot of pure uncorrupted wholesomeness in a series that lately has been brimming with edgy anti-heroes and good guys with surprisingly sad backstories. Sometimes you just wanna put down the edgy one liners and destructive weapons and just go fishing with a bro, and Big is that bro.

@@ElectrikStatik900 Forces tried to be edgy, supposedly having Sonic tortured, Tails giving into despair, Knuckles contemplating the tragedy of war, and Infinite is just straight up a Sonic oc and not in the fun way. With lines like "None of this is good, Vector. That's why it's called war" ... I mean, it isn't not edgy

The edginess in sonic adventure 2, and even 1 which had two and almost three genocides, was pretty great. I wish the series did go in that direction and kept the tone consistent instead of Tails forgetting to put a landing gear while Gamma murders all his friends. But that can only be done with good writing and incredibly easily go downhill with Shadow the Hedgehog or Forces

This is more like every open world game in a nutshell. You have a big destiny that is of the upmost importance. Only to get sidetracked with meaningless crap and procrastinate for unnaturally long periods of time. And miraculously still be able to save the day against all logic.

I head a theory a while back that Sonic is a huge Zelda fan who likes to copy Zelda ideas into his games, Werehog to mimic TP wolf-Link, swordplay in SatBK, etc. Distracting side-quests and mini-games in Frontiers would help this theory greatly.
