Tails' character arc in Frontiers is him trying to step and be a hero like Sonic, but is still worried about messing up and thinking that he's not good enough despite showing how far he has come from his early days and that's ok, he his still (like Knuckles says) a kid and it's ok if you still need help, even if you want to be more independent. This music and the lyrics capture this arc perfectly in how "If you really want it, Go and face the challenge, Find a New Horizon", Tails wants to go higher than ever before (higher than all the heavens) and find his own path in life, to be the hero he wants to be, which relates to his SA1/2 theme where he wants to be out of the shadows of Sonic, not to spite him but to make Sonic see the hero he becomes just like him, to make him proud. Sonic saw that in him, was there any other reason why he stuck with Tails for all this time unlike Amy or Knuckles who yes are his friends but have their own lives to control independently, Tails didn't have that control and independence in him but now...he Believes In Himself.

when I first played his story in adventure, I always had hope for him. I really liked his character and independence and courage, but after a while... they *kinda* butchered his character (especially after forces 😶) and I haven't seen a lot of that independence and courage.. until this game. and just like what you said, this theme is PERFECT for him (also that believe in myself bit made me chuckle)

I do love how they took the writing blunder of Forces and turned it into a genuinely heartwarming moment of introspection and character growth for Tails in frontiers. Ian really gets these characters and I really hope he gets to write what ever game succeeds Frontiers.

In Sonic The Comic Online, he is given the title of Hero Of Mobius, after Sonic was framed for terrorism crimes by a Metallix that Grimer created for revenge against Sonic for what he did to Robotnik.

the parts of amy, knuckles and tails with their songs really give the same vibe when you had to play as every character in Sonic 06 in the final story to save sonic... But now done right lol, Fun fact since Sonic 06 the next game they are actual playable again in a 3D Sonic game is.. This one :D
