I just realized how great Sega made eggmans character in the modern era. He has this evil side to him but at times you can see that he wants the greater good than bad (or maybe hes just worried about himself). But the fact that he can even get friendly with his arch enemy and tell him "not bad" when he hits him is just something that's new to me. Sometimes I even think that he doesnt want to exactly kill sonic but simply beat him at least once just to have that sense of victory. Idk just my thoughts on him but I still do think he has a amazing character to him

From my perspective, Modern Eggman is just a crazy genius that wants to prove he's the best at anything (but uses rule over the world concept as basis) to the point his actions just wanting to beat Sonic. Unlike Dreamcast or classic Eggman that has caused some serious evil schemes (like pissing the moon, and don't get me started at classic)

My older brother had this game on Xbox 360, and every time he played, I would sit there on the floor and watch him. This was our bonding moment. Now, with the new edition of the game out, I feel like a little kid again. I remember (being like 3-4yrs) always wanting to be like a puppy and I would pretend to run beside him and he was sonic. This is a period of time I will never forget for as long as I live.

The greatest strength of this game is also its greatest weakness. The level design is much more open with lots of alternate pathways to take and has a bunch of 3D platforming, but it doesn't fit the Boost's style of play. The Boost works at its best the way it was in Unleashed where it was all about keeping your speed up no matter what and using your reflexes to dodge the oncoming hazards in order to simulate never having to stop. The level design was more linear and straightfoward because of this which made the style of play as great as it did. Colors tried placing the Boost in a style that didn't fit it, while Generations tries putting the Boost in level design that would fit more with the Sonic Adventure style of play. It's better as a platforming game but is counter intuitive to the Boost's style of play. The game's lack of an actual story as well as there being no real originality to the game makes it just slightly above Colors for me. Where Colors is average in every way, Generations has some genuine skill in the crafting of its environments which can be fun to go through, unfortunately it comes at the cost of missing what made the Boost what it was and it feels off putting to be boosting through level design as expansive and platformy as this.
