Story
Shortly after defeating Eggman in Metallic Madness, Sonic decided to return to South Island. But it seems that Eggman already arrived on the island before him ...

In his former base, he studies the hypothetically called "Flame Emeralds", which he discovered from an alternate dimension. They are seven powerful stones and can control all types of fire. At this point, Eggman decided to build a machine that would allow him to open a Green Hill portal to that dimension to get them all, but ... nothing happened. And this infuriated him greatly, causing him to destroy his machine because of his rage. However, it seems that by doing so, he accidentally opened the portal, allowing one of the emeralds to pass ...
"Mwahaha! I can finally make my plans come true, and there's no hedgehog to stop me!" Said Eggman and returned to Scrap Brain very happily. "Now only to find the rest ..."
Sonic then soon lands close to home. Everything seems to be fine, but then he hears shouts from his animal friends! Knowing who caused it, he ran back through Green Hill to check.

Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog is a 15-year blue hedgehog who does not live in any particular location on planet Earth, preferring to travel the world in search of fun and adventure wherever he goes. While he may be a hobo, it does not mean that he cares only for himself. Sonic is known for his "attitude", which is shown through his presumption and sarcasm. Sonic sometimes likes to show up to look "cool". He is often shown posing or adjusting his gloves or shoes. He is also often considered impatient and sometimes has a warm temper.

Grandson of Professor Gerald Robotnik, Dr. Eggman was born as Ivo Robotnik. Although much of his past remains a mystery, it is known that in his early years, Eggman was looking at his grandfather, hoping to one day be a scientist as big as Gerald. It was later in life that Dr. Robotnik met his long-time rival and archenemy Sonic the Hedgehog. While it could be anything, Dr. Eggman is eyeing the biggest prize of all - global domination. Dreaming of the day when he will be able to raise Eggmanland, Eggman tires incessantly to achieve this, though his plans are occasionally thwarted by the blue blur himself, Sonic the Hedgehog.

Metal Sonic
Created by Dr. Eggman, Metal Sonic was designed to accomplish what Eggman failed to do - defeat Sonic the Hedgehog. He was made to not only be equal to Sonic, but overcome it. Using a custom chipset and A.I. developed by Dr. Eggman, the doctor devoted far more attention to Metal than any other member of his robotic army. And after being defeated in Little Planet, Metal is ready again to stop Sonic at all costs.
