So obviously Eggman was working on the shadow androids before Metal took over. Always wondered why he asked Team Chaotix to destroy the Shadow Android Weapon capsules though...

He assumed that Metal was likely to have them for a significant amount of time and he didn't want them to fall into Metal's hands. His plan might have been to escape rather than immediately reestablish control.
