Sonic Hoshi is a 2D Fan Game that fits in-between the story of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and 3. Created by glacesu & various others, featured as an entry to this years Sonic Amateur Games Expo!

= Story =
After collecting the seven Chaos Emeralds and defeating the Death Egg, Sonic and his new friend, Tails, are attacked by a familiar foe, Metal Sonic! Metal knocks the seven emeralds out of Sonic, striking down Tails' Bi-Plane, the Tornado, as the duo crash land on the unfamiliar Starshine Island. Upon arrival, Sonic and Tails notice that their surroundings have been trampled by Badniks, while the nefarious Dr. Robotnik appears to be multiple steps ahead. Robotnik has begun the investigation of the island's mysterious shrine, A temple containing a powerful entity known as the Celestial Star. Rumour has it this star can rival the power of the Chaos Emeralds when fully powered, but it’s a race to see who can power and retrieve the Celestial Star first!
This game is designed for PC only, and has 2 separate playable characters, Sonic and Tails.

The debut of SAGE '22 has finally arrived, and looks to have a lot of interesting sonic fan games, mods, originals, and especially indie games. So as I mentioned from yesterday's speedrun, there's a lot of games I made a list to try out, I might even consider all of September to dedicate playing this years SAGE entries.
To start it off, we have the return of Sonic Hoshi! In comparison to the first demo from last year, it shows off improvements towards the visuals, title screen/title cards, and HUD. Plus, and a new third additional zone.

This game really has its potential to become something, like that other game you did about several weeks ago (where it had that other 1v1 game mode.) I love how the motion of the sprite animations are just as smooth as you would see in Sonic Mania, I feel like more fan games should do the same thing too. Sorry for being a bit late on this upload, had a tough process with classes, thank you for this upload JP 💯

This game to Sonic 2 is what XG is to 3 , even as a sequel , it's like a punch in the face , Metal Sonic comes in and destroys Sonic's Tornado , just like in old XG , and they also end up in a different new island , there is plenty of similarities really , the HUD , the effects , heck even the music reminds me of Nexus Genesis (Pretty cool OST tho , it slaps and i like the theme of the game , and i like how the "theme with two answers to it" stuff was implemented) I'm excited for this game though , it's fun and polished , no matter what anyone says , there's many games in this SAGE i want to be full someday , this is one of them , and i hope all of them be out , and finished.

I understand it's for gameplay purposes and all...but man it's kinda annoying that every fangame that takes places around one of the classic games (either between game or directly after S3&K) to have Sonic lose the emeralds if so much as a feather grazes him. Sonic After the Sequel, Triple Trouble 16 bit, XG, this game. It's even worse because I know he's gonna lose them next game. (Also why use a new ending for Sonic 2and have Sonic transform out of nowhere instead of just using the good ending or not having him transform at all)

Sonic fangames when they can't add a star artifact: 😢 First Fallen Star, and then Hoshi with their bullshit "star artifact more powerful than the Chaos Emeralds". Also it's funny how Hoshi has zero logic in Sonic timeline. Hoshi is as illogical as an Avengers sequel to Infinity War before Endgame. Sonic 3 happens only a few days after Sonic 3 because Eggman was preparing to restart the Death Egg RIGHT after Sonic 2. You could say that Eggman had an adventure at the meantime, but I doubt he would even try to restart the Death Egg if he had this big adventure before. Also it's funny how Metal Sonic is somehow there. Eggman literally used a replacement of Metal Sonic about 10 minutes before Hoshi's intro and used another replacement in Sonic 3. Why? He could not recreate Metal Sonic. Something many of you don't get is that Metal Sonic was only built with the help of the Time Stones and took like 30 years to be built. There is a reason on why Metal Sonic only appeared in CD. Eggman could not built this huge project under idk, a few weeks? Also i hope Mystic Mine and Grand Glacier will be rewamped because one is Labyrinth Zone in Mystic Cave and the other is 100% Ice Cap. Besides that, amazing effects and spritework. Also did Grand Glacier literally just use the boss melody in the theme?

@ZAIM1X there is nothing that says that this is in a alternative timeline. It specifically say "after Sonic 2, before Sonic 3". In that case, it should have been said in the SFGHQ page and Sonic 3 shouldn't had ever happened in their timeline. Besides, stop dickriding a canceled famgame
