Yeah I'll be honest, I prefer how Sonic is in this game over the boost mechanic, aside from the Speed, I like the idea of a parkour system, and also a Focused Homing Attack and the new Samaursault Kick and Homing Kick moves and bringing back his bouch move from the adventure games are also nice additions. Really this works really well for Modern Sonic in 2D, much like the Advance games.

I agree that the boss battles look really easy, but the music is still great, the boss themes especially, its a shame the fights are too short to hear much of it... My main problem is the Story Plot being very thin. Can they explain the Wisps appearance, are they just a normal occurance in the sonic universe now? why were they in red capsules when Eggman himself is focused on another energy source? plus a backstory of the Zeti would've been nice, what is their home like, why did they leave it to come here, or did Eggman find and force them out? Also how the Lost Hex is just 'there' at the game's beginning and Tails knowing immediately what it is seemed a bit cheesy. (also hated how they immediately forget that animal capsule that dropped into the clouds) also what happened to the Zeti after their fights in the lava zone? did Sonic kill them? did they run away to recover their energy? don't know. we just got a puff of smoke and nothing afterwards. Overall, its quite fun to watch, and a nice try at something 'new' with previous game elements, but it needs more of a story to explain just what the flip is happening.

I can't tell if this game is a sequel to colors, or a reboot of the series. The gameplay is completely different and there's more characters, but the wisps are here, the final boss is copy and pasted from that game, and they both tease at a tails boss fight only to immediately disappoint.
