Sonic Mania recently released some new DLC titled, Sonic Mania Plus! I was excited to playthrough the new Encore mode since it featured some barely familiar faces: Ray and Mighty!

I don't understand why people are calling Plus bad. The DLC is 5 dollars and you still get revamped levels and 2 new character that work in Mania Mode as well as Encore mode. They even added 4 player multiplayer. And a secret final boss would've had to have been made to work with 5 characters with two being able to be swapped between at any given time. They did what they could within the time limit they had to make the DLC and the physical copies of the game. I'm glad we even got a DLC for Mania. I would've been happy with just Mighty and Ray being added in or just Encore Mode, but they wanted to make the fans happy. Appreciate what we got.

19:14 I just realized, if you look at the point where you softlocked at Mirage Saloon Act 1, you can see that the background was still moving, as if the character was still on the train section. It can be noted that there's most likely an invisible trigger point, as there are a couple throughout these stages. For this stage's example, one for the palette change, and two for the train section (One the enables the moving background + chugga chugga, and another at the end that disables it). Somehow, you were able to bypass the "disable train" trigger, and that was what causes it to softlock, because Mirage Saloon Act 2 doesn't have train triggers in it. A+Start similarly was able to bypass the trigger in standard mode's Mirage Saloon Act 1 (Sonic) that makes the palette change, and it's most likely that if he was to complete that level in that state, would've also ended up in a softlock. This seems like something that'd have to be explored in further detail.

20:00 Depends on what you mean by "seeing them". There were cameos for all of them in Sonic Generations (more missing posters). Mighty had not been playable since 95 (Knuckles Chaotix), whereas Bark, Bean, and Fang had all last been playable since 96 (Sonic The Fighters). Ray had not been playable since his only game in 93 (SegaSonic the Hedgehog). So you're right. BUT ALPHARAD, IT'S "BEAN THE DYNAMITE" NOT "BEAK" (Why yes I am aware of the joke. That's why I'm commenting)

The secret final boss is only a Mania Mode boss fought only by Sonic, explaining the 2 Sonics in Sonic Forces. Encore Mode is after Sonic Forces, so there is no secret final boss.

You can find giant rings where you would normally find secret power ups and boxes, not all giant rings moved, and some rings are in new locations Ex:GHZ2 under the spike bridge you burn you will find a giant ring.
