So they even kept the "you have to get rid of the shield before you can go Super as Sonic" thing since going Super is mapped to the same button as your midair command. While that's a nice nod, I do wish that there was a separate button to go Super (like there should've been for S3&K. What else were you going to use he C button for?).

You can use it, but you cant activate super sonic with a shield equiped. After the final boss it gets a own button so you can transform wenever using shields.

What would be cool is if they kept the shield around their super forms, it's pointless, but it look a bit cooler, and gives them the abilities the shields have. Like super sonic being able to move faster than ever before with the Fire shield Getting maximum jump power with the water shield And use the electric shield to get a hyper jump But it mostly would be cool for the visuals l Imagine super sonic, super tails, or super knuckles with a fire shield Pretty awesome, right?
