I gotta go (fast): 4. Knuckles 5.5-6/10, could’ve been slight better 3. Sonic The Hedgehog 6.5/10, fun and a nice starter, but nothing compared to what would come 2. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 8/10, major improvement, but the humans bring it to screeching halt for a sec. 1. Sonic The Hedgehog 3 9/10, a truly outstanding film in more ways than one for me. This was the Sonic film we’d dreamed for years. It’s in my top 10 favorite movies of the year as well :)

Sonic 2 did such an amazing job adapting Sonic 2, 3 and Sonic and Knuckles into a movie, and Sonic 3 did the same with Sonic Adventure 2. All of those games were huge parts of my childhood so it's so surreal to see them made into successful movies in my late 30s.

Summarized how I feel about each movie perfectly. Great ranking/review! 😁 Being a huge fan of Sonic Adventure 2, I have to say, the portrayal of Shadow is everything I could have asked for! Keanu Reeves as Shadow feels extremely natural and authentic to the character, and every scene he was in filled me with so much joy and nostalgia from growing up with Sonic Adventure 2. They also adapted his backstory with Maria better than any of games ever have in my opinion. I want to watch the movie again just for Shadow alone. Simple things such as him running/skating towards the camera with his flame shoes was so cool to see and executed so well!

Knuckles-Despite not being difficult to get through, this six episode series focused too much on Wade Whipple wasn’t able to come together as a spin-off in this franchise or really even as a well done comedy show that happens to have Knuckles as a side character 3. Sonic the Hedgehog-Even if this first outing of the franchise doesn’t hit the highs of its sequels, I think it’s an enjoyable time and I’d say it has gotten better with time because of what we’ve seen from the second and third Sonic films 2. Sonic the Hedgehog 2-A thoroughly entertaining video game adaptation that takes the strengths of its predecessor and builds on them by having larger action setpieces, the introduction of Tails, more Jim Carrey antics, and a stronger thematic throughline to make for what I would say is one of the absolute best video game movie adaptations ever made 1. Sonic the Hedgehog 3-Even as someone who hasn’t really played Sonic games, I had a great time with this one on Thursday because once again, the foundation continues to be built on with the antagonistic threat of Shadow, Knuckles being on the good side, clever pop culture references, and a satisfying third act to be even better than the first two films in my mind

This is the one trilogy where each film gets better. The third one was by far the best of the three and in my opinion was genuinely a great movie. It had higher stakes, a compelling villain, heart, and even had an emotional ark for Robotnik of all characters. All while being incredibly fast-paced and a fun thrill ride. One of my favorite films of the year for sure.

My ranking with brief descriptions: 4) Knuckles \\ (3.5/10) The first half of this season was great in my opinion, but the second half brings it down SO HARD. 3) Sonic the Hedgehog \\ (7.5/10) I really enjoyed how they portrayed the characters and it was a great baseline for how things were gonna go. 2) Sonic the Hedgehog 2 \\ (8.5/10) They took what I loved about the first one and upped the stakes with great new characters. 1) Sonic the Hedgehog 3 \\ (9.5/10) The humour doesn’t bother me at all, I think they balanced it out great. Having a more serious story really brought this up for me and the robotniks were amazing.

Great work as always! Here's my ranking 4. Knuckles: I was excited for this show. The first couple of episodes were really good but man did the show decline as it went on. It's ok and enjoyable enough but what a disappointment: 6.5/10 3. Sonic the Hedgehog 2020: Nothing amazing to write home with this first movie but a good start for the franchise and definitely changed the landscape for video game movies at the time: 7.5/10 2. Sonic the Hedgehog 3: Sonic 2&3 are basically neck and neck for me, I enjoyed the hell out of this. Shadow was awesome in this (Keanu was solid in the role.) And pumped for the 4th movie: 9/10 1. Sonic the Hedgehog 2: Improved on everything about the 1st film, brought in more characters and callbacks, and just an overall blast, nostalgic fun ride: 9/10

In Sonic 3 I wish they substituted some of the pop music for music from the games. Like they missed the perfect opportunity to use the Chao world music from SA2 and they could’ve even used the song “All Hail Shadow” when he was fighting Sonic early in the movie, especially when they had Sonic pass out which was taken directly from Shadow the Hedgehog

4. Knuckles while I will agree it was a little disappointing but I still had a decent time with it 3. Sonic the Hedgehog really fun time and crazy how far we’ve come since that original design and Jim Carrey steals the show 2. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 while I will agree the wedding sequence wasn’t needed but it didn’t bother me as much and really enjoyed the addition of both Tails and Knuckles 1. Haven't seen Knuckles in its entirety. 3rd: Sonic the Hedgehog- For context I don't hate this film. This film I thought was a good movie. 2nd: Sonic the Hedgehog 2- Doubles down the things I like from the first film and did a wonderful job delivering. 1st: Sonic the Hedgehog 3- Not only this is the best Sonic film, but made this film an incredible thrill ride that I never thought a PG film in the 2020s would have. I really enjoy these films but Jim Carrey Robotnik is the reason I watch this franchise 😂. He's just bloody brilliant. Haven't seen the 3rd one yet but I'm excited and to think they've already confirmed a 4th film. Best to worst: Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Sonic the Hedgehog Knuckles I think the reason I like 2 more than 3 is because while the wedding scene is a huge drag, in 3 they sidelined the humans too hard as well as Tails and Knuckles to focus on Sonic and Shadow. I really enjoyed the father/son relationship with Tom in the final battle.

SPOILER WARNING FOR SONIC 3 I do think that the big problem with the Knuckles series isn't necessarily that it doesn't have Knuckles in it but that it barely touches upon or adds to the greater Sonic Universe, honestly I thought they were setting up the Buyer to play a much bigger role. Who knows maybe he is the one that created the army of Metal Sonics that we see in the mid-credit scene and he will play a bigger role in Sonic 4 only time will tell.

I like the knuckles show, what did anyone expect one it is a side project and the budget did not let knuckles or his grandfather appaer that much, plus the dream part explaining some more of knuckles past was fun to watch they did what they could with the budget they had yes I understand why people do not like it but the dislike goes over why it was what it was, are there writing things that could have been better yes but at least it was not soulless

Seeing the 3rd 25th but the first two is 2: Sonic 1 7,2/10 A solid entry of a video game adaptation. Its fun yet still like the games. Really shows how to make a good adaptation while still keeping it simple. Its a solid start with minor flaws but still very good Sonic 2 8/10 I think sonic 2 is better cause of more characters. I like the plotline of chasing the emerald and jim carrey gives it his all like the first. The sonic movies u dont need to have played the games yet they still do the characters so well. Its action, humor, and overall conclusion works well for me. Its better than the 1st but not by much. But excited for the third. These movies just get this right.

3. Sonic the Hedgehog 2020/Knuckles (they're pretty much the same thing, with a few differences here and there. First Sonic was ok, Knuckles was also ok, but Wade had too much screen time. But they weren't terrible by any means) 7/10. 2. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (a vast improvement from the first movie. My fav character Knuckles makes his debut and Jim Carrey is full on Jim Carrey. The finale was AWESOME) 9/10. 1. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (saw this movie in cinemas. It was ABSOLUTE CINEMA. Hands down my favorite movie in the franchise. Shadow is such a baddie, two Jim Carreys are better than one... what else could you want out of a Sonic film?) 10/10.
