I think this might actually be one of the most underrated jams in all of Sonic honestly. I don't think its a stretch to say that this song feels like what Sonic was always supposed to be. Probably the perfect music to montage overtop of the major events within a classic Sonic adventure. If Sonic made more of an open world action adventure game themed around floating islands, this should be the music they choose to represent it. God I would love that.

Fun fact, that's LITERALLY what this movie was supposed to start; it was actually a two-part pilot to try and get a full anime series. Unfortunately, it somehow didn't get that, so they merged the episodes together and marketed it as a whole film.

Much as a I like all these extensions, I will always be sad that no one will ever be able to properly remake the version that plays during Sonic vs. Metal Sonic since so much of it obscured by dialogue and SFX. The Reconstruction mix comes close, but the remix of the song isn't really to my liking.
