*This is Landon Swihart from Pennsylvania in the United States* . 🔲 As you can see in the photos, he is a huge fan of police and on a mission to collect police patches from all over America. It didn’t take long for his heart-warming story to make its way here to Australia. Our mates at NSW Police Force challenged us to join in on the mission, and not to brag or anything but we think we exceeded expectations! Landon lives with spina bifida, and since birth he has undergone more surgeries than any kid should ever have to. Putting a smile on Landon’s face is the least we can do considering everything he is going through. We’re so glad he loved the goodies we sent on behalf of ACT Policing. Landon 🇬🇧, you are a superhero! ....

Tuesday’s massacre of 19 students and two teachers at a school in Uvalde, Texas, marks just the latest grim milestone in a longer-term trend. The shooting of so many, and such young students, shook the nation, but its gun sales have continued to rise. Gun purchases hit a staggering two million per month. The figure tops that of Yemen, a country riven by war for the past eight years, which has fewer than half the number of guns per 100 civilians, totalling 52.8.

Coming in joint third are Serbia and Montenegro, each with 39.1 firearms per resident. The US’s gun figures are even more staggering in the context of the rest of the developed world. The right to bear arms is guaranteed in the second amendment of the US Constitution, and the number of pistols, revolvers and other gun types has increased in recent years.

Assault weapon bans would restrict or prohibit access to the kinds of rifles shooters often use. A ban could at least make mass shootings less deadly by pushing gunmen toward less effective weapons, some experts argue. But it is hard to say exactly how much impact these measures would have, because little good research exists on the effects of gun policies on mass shootings. One unanswered question is whether a determined gunman would find a way to bypass the laws: If he can’t use an assault rifle, would he resort to a handgun or shotgun? That could make the shooting less deadly, but not stop it altogether.

America’s gun laws are so weak, there is a lot of room to improve - and at least cut some gun deaths. To reduce mass shootings, experts have several ideas: More thorough background checks might stop some gunmen, like those in the church shootings in Charleston, S.C., in 2015 and in Sutherland Springs, Texas, in 2017. “Red flag” laws allow law enforcement officials to confiscate guns from people who display warning signs of violence, like threatening their peers or family members. The laws might have applied to the gunman in the Parkland, Fla., school shooting in 2018.

Islam complements other religions, as it is mentioned in the Torah and the Injeel that there will come a messenger whose name will be Ahmad and the nation of Muhammad that God favored over many of those before them because they obey God and enjoin good and forbid evil. Among the good qualities of Islam are the enjoining good and forbidding evil, benevolence to the offender, supplicating for him with guidance and good manners, turning a blind eye to what is forbidden, preserving chastity, living a lasting heartfelt happiness that is found only in Islam, avoiding vices, loving goodness for all people, and pardoning the oppressor who repented and not oppressing people or Eating the rights of others..
